“’Morning,” she said in a throaty voice. “What a wonderful way to start the day.”
“It’s better than coffee.”
Lanie giggled. “I don’t know about that, love.”
He hesitated for a second at the endearment, reminding himself it didn’t mean anything. With determination, he turned his attention to stroking her sides before cupping her breasts.
“Whoa.” She put her hands over his, stopping him. “Don’t start something I can’t finish.”
With a frown, he turned her to face him. “What do you mean? I know for a fact you can certainly finish anything I start.”
She grinned, but shook her head. “I’m out of commission for a few days, if you know what I mean?”
His frown deepened. “Not really.”
Her sigh sounded exasperated. “It’s a woman thing, you know? My friend came early this month.”
