Chapter Two

Seven in the morning and the alarm began to play the sweet melody I had grown so use to over the years. I jumped from my bed, gathering my things to head down the hall for a quick shower. Classes did not start for another hour and a half, but I always enjoyed being the early bird.             No one was in the girl’s shower room, thankfully. I placed my clothes on the bench outside of the shower I was using and draped my towel over the front of the stall. I discarded of the pajamas I was wearing and placed them outside the stall. The warm water cascaded over my body. I lathered the rose smelling shampoo in my hair before rinsing it out and scrubbed my body with the sweet scent of my lavender body wash. The shower took a total of twenty minutes before I was walking back into my dorm to work on putting my wet hair in a ponytail. I dressed in my long loose black skirt while wearing a white blouse and white sandals to match. It maybe was not the best matching outfit, but it fit my style.             Soon, I was heading off to my first class of the day. I was the first one waiting outside of my physics class. I had not waited there long before the professor approached opening the door for me to come in. I found a seat among the third row of the classroom, not wanting to get too close in case he was one of those professors that liked to spit when he talked or something.             “Since you are the first student to arrive, we can get to know a little about each other before the other students arrive. I am Professor Newt. Welcome to physics.”             “Nice to meet you. My name is Samantha Taylor.”             “Pleasure to meet you Samantha. It is nice to see that someone is taking the college experience seriously enough. I will go ahead and give you our curriculum for the semester.” He takes out a single piece of paper from his briefcase and walks it over to me, sitting it neatly on my desk.             A minute later the other students starting piling in. Emily was one of the last to arrive. Over the weekend she had spent a lot of time with Caleb and even stayed in his dorm last night. It was no surprise to see her act so gleefully when she walked in taking her seat next to me.             “Good night?”             “The best night. Caleb is really awesome. His friends are a little strange but eventually they opened up to me too.”             “Alright everyone let us get this class started. I am Professor Newt and will be your teacher for this semester. I hope you can all learn from me and what this class has to offer for your future.”             Just then the door opened to the classroom and in walked none other than Levi. He was wearing all black. Black t-shirt, black jeans, and black sneakers to match.             “Nice of you to join us Mr. Hawks.”             Um…seems as if this professor knows him which does not surprise me too much since he is a second year but still this class was for freshman. He takes his seat on the top row next to some girl that seemed just like his type. She too was decked out in all black with a ton of makeup on. His eyes scanned the room before they stopped looking directly at me. My head flipped around to the front of my class while I rolled my eyes.             After an hour, the class was over, and we were heading on to the next. This was what most of the day was. Consisting of changing from class to class until it was time for lunch. Emily decided to have lunch with Caleb and his friends today at some grill down the street. Not surprising to me at all. I however decided to eat at the cafeteria today. I wasn't very hungry, so I decided to go with a Caesar salad today. Having a salad made it easier to focus on studying in between classes. It was the first week so I knew the professors would not give us much for homework, but I would not be where I was now if it were not for my constant need to study and be ahead on everything.             Then I heard a voice come from in front of me while I felt the table shake that I was sitting at as he sat down across from me. “Hi, my name is Damien Johnson.” He placed his hand across the table for me to shake.             While shaking I introduced myself. “I am Samantha Taylor. Nice to meet you Damien.”             “Are you new here Samantha?” The way my name rolled off his tongue was somewhat amusing.             I giggled a little before answering. “You can call me Sam. And to answer your question, yes today is my first day here.”             “You will love it here. This is my second year here.”             “What is your major?”             “Not sure yet. For now, I am swinging more toward something in business. What about you?”             “Business and to become a Veterinarian. I have my work cut out for me.”             “You are going for both degrees at one time?” He looked at me like I was straight crazy.             “That is the plan. I want to do both so when I graduate, I can open up my own practice with my best friend Emily.”             “Sounds like quite the plan. I am sure you can do it if you put your mind to it. Anyways, I came over here to see if you would like to maybe go out with me tonight.”             He was quite handsome with his buzz cut hairdo and his abundant muscular shape, but I found it quite odd that someone like him was asking someone like me out on a date. “Why?”             “That is a silly question to ask. You seemed a little lonely over here by yourself and I thought to myself why such a pretty girl like you is all alone. It made me wonder so I naturally had to come and introduce myself.”             Damien seemed nice enough, but I still could not help but feel this little kick in my gut that told me something was off about this whole thing.             “C’mon. One little date would not hurt, and I promise to be the perfect gentleman.”             “Okay. One date.”             He grinned widely as if he had just won the football state championship. “Great. Meet me at the front of the school at around six. Does that sound okay?”             “Yeah. I will see you then.”             Damien got up and walked away without another word. I was not interested in going out on a date on the first day of school, but I could not find it in my heart to say no. That was one of my biggest problems. I wore my heart on my sleeve and everyone knew it.             After our last class of the day, Emily and I walked back to our dorm where Caleb and his friends were waiting inside, including Levi. Caleb picked up Emily in his arms and twirled her around like he had not just saw her earlier at lunch. Levi was resting on my bed which aggravated me to no end.             “Sam, we are going out tonight if you would like to come. It is a bonfire not too far from here.”             “Can’t. I am going out on a date tonight.” Everyone’s ears perked up in the room like they were surprised to hear that I would be going out on a date.             “Oh, give me the details. What is his name?” Even Emily seemed surprised, but she still asked like she was excited for me.             “Damien Johnson.”             Everyone in the room broke out into laughter except for me, Emily, and Levi. I turned to them wondering what was so funny. “Is that a problem?”             Jaz walked over to me placing her hand on my shoulder. “Good luck with that jock. I will just say he has a bad rep when it comes to innocent little girls like you.” She laughed while continuing to walk right past me and out the door while the rest of her gang followed except for Emily and Levi.             “Have fun Sam and do not let these guys worry you. You have a good instinct about guys so use that to your advantage. Do not wait up for me okay?” Emily skipped out the room before I had a chance to respond.             Levi walked slowly behind her but stopped when he was shoulder to shoulder with me. “Where is he taking you?”             “None of your business!”             “Just curious. Wondering where I will need to send Emily to pick up the shatter pieces of your heart when Damien is done with you.” He glanced over my body before beginning to walk out.             “Hey! I do not know who you think that I am but the last thing that will happen is me giving anything to Damien or to anyone else in this school. My focus is and always will be on my future.”             My words seemed to satisfy him as he smirked and walked out the door.             For the rest of the evening my mind kept thinking back to what Jaz and Levi had said. The last thing I wanted was to give Damien the idea that I was ready to give him my goods over on the first date. I dressed in attire that covered every piece of my skin that the clothing would allow. I wore a blue turtleneck half sleeve shirt with a pair of my best blue jeans. I even covered my feet with my favorite black short heeled boots. I ran through my hair with my brush before putting it back into a ponytail. I looked over myself completely satisfied with the look.             By the time six o’clock came around I was standing outside by the beautiful fountain, watching the sun starting to go down. Ten minutes had passed and still no Damien. I started to gather what this was about. Did he think this would get my hopes up and he would let me down by standing me up? From what I have already heard about him, he was doing me a favor then. After fifteen minutes had passed, I was ready to walk back inside when he pulled up in a Chevy Silverado pickup truck.             He got out and headed straight toward me, already beginning his apology. “I am sorry Sam for being so late. My roommate locked me out of our room. He had some company that I was not expecting. If you are still interested, I would love to still take you out if you are not too upset with me.”             It seemed like a good enough excuse. “I am still here aren’t I?”             Damien let out a sigh of relief as he walked me over to the passenger side of his truck. He even opened the door for me while I got in and closed it behind me. The engine roared to life as he cranked it up and loud music started coming from the speakers sending my ear drums waving their hands in disapproval. It happened to be rap which in my opinion was the worst genre of music there was, other than that screaming stuff I could not stand to listen to.             We approached a small Mexican restaurant that had big red neon flashing lights to advertise it outside. He parked behind the restaurant and again opened my door for me, even helping me out since I was too short to reach the step.             The meal was great, and the night seemed to pass with ease. We talked as if we had known each other for a lifetime. He was easy enough to talk to the more we opened to each other. Even though the night was going great, something was still nagging at me that this night was going to end horribly. When we finished our meal, he paid, and we left heading back to campus. Damien was nice enough to even walk me up to my room.             He walked in as I left the door open for him to. As I turned around, he was locking his lips onto mine.             “What the hell Damien?” I said as I pulled away from him.             “I couldn't help it. This was a perfect date tonight and I wanted to end it on a high note.”             “Maybe asking me first would have been better.” I rolled my eyes letting him see that his act enraged me.             “Really Sam? Are you seriously going to be that righteous b***h? The one that thinks she walks on water or some s**t. It is just a kiss but if I want more, I can assure you I will take it!” He words unaffected me. I have dealt with his type before. Should have just went with my gut after all.             “You need to leave.”             Damien did not leave. He covered my mouth while pressing me against the back wall of my small dorm room. “Scream, no one will hear you now.” The thought of screaming had not even crossed my mind. He pressed his lips to my neck as he desperately tried to remove my shirt with his free hand. It took him long enough, but he finally ripped it off me. Damn. That was my favorite shirt. I think it was pissing him off a little that I was not as upset as he expected me to be. This was the way I dealt with life though. Always disappointed so I never really was when something finally bad happened to me.             That is when I saw the camera he was wearing on his shirt. It was ridiculously small, and I almost missed it. If it had not been for his jacket slapping me in the face as he moved closer toward me, I would have missed it. I see what this is about now. This pick on the new girl, get her to sleep with him so he can show the school I was just some slut. I tried to grab for the camera, but he swatted at my hand noticing what I was trying to do. He then unbuttoned my pants and yanked them off me harshly. That is when he let me go and took a step back in surprise to stare at my body. The baggy clothes I wore were on purpose. I did not want it attracting male attention. My breast were much bigger than I would have liked for them to be, my ass was perfect size for my height, but I hated it all the same. I had a small waist with nice round love handles.             “Oh s**t! You have a fine ass body girl.” Damien held his hand over his mouth still in shock. He looked as if he was unwrapping a gift at Christmas and surprised, he got just what he asked for.             Lucky for me, my door swung open right on time because Damien was inching closer to me. Once he saw who it was, he took off running before Levi had the chance to get him. Levi just stood there taking in my body like he was not surprised at all. Like my body had no effect on him what-so-ever. I felt a sharp pain run through me as I noticed this. He found a blanket nearby and threw it at me. He never said a word as he slammed the door in my face and was gone just as quickly as he arrived.
