Episode 3 - Sky He'd seemed a little off all day but with Noah, a girl had to accept that he was always a little bit dark and moody. If you asked her, it was all just part of his charm. That, along with his incredibly good looks made him the epitome of tall, dark and handsome. He had these stormy gray eyes under thick black lashes and the kind of lips that made it hard not to stare at his mouth whenever he moved them. His hair was just a little bit unruly, dark locks almost long enough to curl around the edges, begging to be touched. He hated it when she did that though so she'd learned to curb her craving whenever she was close... which wasn't often enough, if you asked her about that either. She didn't always worry about making him mad, sometimes it was just too much to resist. Then he would growl and his face took on this chiseled herculean appeal but when he had enough, he'd stalk off, probably take off into the woods to cool off. He was definitely more of a loner no matter how many people surrounded him. Maybe that's why he was in line for the Alpha. The leader may have the pack around him but they always stand alone in the end. She'd been watching him all day and when she walked into Ducey's, she was positive that something was definitely bothering him. She tried to remember if she had said or done anything to piss him off. When he drove by cheer practice earlier, he'd been scowling, definitely not smiling, even as Felix hung out the window and made a total fool of himself. She decided she'd have to tread carefully if she wanted to keep from spooking him. "Hey guys." She plopped down across from him, hoping that if he had to actually look at her, he'd notice her new hair cut. It turned out even better than she'd imagined, long layers with blue streaks around the edges. So far, everyone had loved it but Noah hadn't even noticed yet. "Sky!" Felix tossed his arm around her for a half-hug and pulled away. "The hair looks great." He said and waited for her gorgeous smile. "Thanks, Feliiiix." She drew out his name a little, hoping that Noah would notice who she was talking to and laughed a little higher than normal. "You told me that twice already today!" She should feel stupid, being so obvious but she just couldn't help herself when it came to Noah. "I know." He said without looking remotely embarrassed. "Just thought I'd say it until you tell me not to!" Felix laughed and shoved a handful of fries in his mouth. "You want some?" he nodded to the basket beside him. He was so nice and oblivious to how much she was in love with Noah. It was sweet really. She couldn't help but like Felix, no one could. He was so easy to like. "No thanks." She shook her head, feeling the soft locks wave around her with each move. "I was going for something new and edgy for the season, you really like it?" She asked, hoping Noah would chime in somewhere but he wasn't taking the bait and she was starting to get a little annoyed. There was only so many times she could hear everyone but Noah say they liked it. "What do you think, Noah?" She finally just asked him. Sometimes girls just had to be braver than the boys were dense. "What?" He answered and everyone laughed. "Sorry, I'm just..." he trailed off and took a big drink of water but she wasn't about to let him get away so easily. She hopped off her chair and dropped onto his lap, wrapping her arms around him. She was over being Mrs. Nice Guy. "I asked what you think of my new hair?" She shook her hair at him and watched it tickle his nose. He blew it out of his face and caught the bottom strands in his hands. "It's different." He said with a half smile. Finally he was starting to notice her. She'd only been trying to catch his attention all day! Whenever she thought she'd have him figured out he'd completely surprise her. She never knew how to act around him and obviously being herself wasn't enough for him. "That's what I was going for." She said quietly as she eased closer toward his face. Just as she thought he might actually kiss her, a jolt of liquid ice shot down her spine as she was tossed off Noah's lap and bounced on the padded seat beside him. "What did you do!" She shouted as she shot up to her feet, an ice cold drink dripping down her back. She twisted around from side to side to see the damage. The guys around her were apologizing between laughs, they'd been fighting and slammed into someone as they walked by, tossing their drink over the side and straight down her back. Her eyes narrowed and her teeth came out. She may be a girly-girl but she was also a wolf. "Whoa, Sky." One of them held their hands up in defeat. "Come on, it was just an accident." They all agreed and stopped laughing. One of them grabbed a bunch of napkins and tried wiping at her. She smacked his hands away with a growl. Felix, always the peacemaker, jumped in between. "Here Sky." He wrapped his hoodie around her. "Come on, I can give you a ride home." He always had a way to make her calm down, he was just like a perfect dog but unfortunately for them both, she wanted a wolf. "Fine." She huffed out, throwing a last glance back at Noah, who didn't seem at all upset about the whole thing. He'd brushed the drink off his arm and shook his hand out. He hadn't even held onto her when she fell off his leg. A little hurt, she watched him toss his keys to Felix and let him lead her out. Her hair was ruined anyway and Noah obviously needed more time to get over his mood. "Thanks Felix." She half smiled as she leaned into him. He really was a nice guy, like her favorite puppy. "I'll walk home." She heard Noah call out. It was just like him, to brood in solitude. How was she ever gonna figure him out? She wondered about it the whole ride home as Felix kept up his aimless chatter. It was amazing that these two were cousins, they were absolutely nothing alike. They were actually more like brothers since Noah's parents had died when he was young. She had loved Noah from the first moment she'd ever seen him when he came to live with Felix and she hated that Felix was the only one who ever noticed her. He noticed all the girls. Charming, handsome and wonderful he might be, Felix didn't really count. She hugged him and headed in, while his deep sigh and long stare after her went completely unnoticed.
