Chapter 13 -Evander

He had no right to be adorable. His face was supposed to be punchable at all times and yet when he watched him rolling around after knocking the wind out of him he desired him so much. He was glad to have him riding on his back right now, the two of them soaring in the sky. He wasn’t heading back to the school yet, and he wasn’t sure if Kouzen had realized it just yet. Being in his dragon form was something he couldn’t describe. It always made him feel free and brought him happiness. He was glad to share that with someone for once. He avoided any hospitals by miles as he flew him around the town. They ended up at the clubhouse and when he landed Kouzen scooted up his neck, “Uh, earth to Evander. This is not school.” Be tossed him off gentle as he could and shifted back. Kouzen cussed at him a few times before stopping. He smirked, watching the demon take him in. He knew what he looked like: thick muscles with a washboard stomach; handsome face; thicket of soft brown hair trailing down his stomach to a nice sized appendage that Kouzen’s eyes seemed to be glued on. He laughed at him, “I know you aren’t just looking at my thighs.” “Shut up!” He laughed harder as his clothes were launched at him piece by piece. So stunned he couldn’t even throw a proper comeback. “I decided not to go back to school, you can walk if you want to go back,” Evander smirked to him, only putting on his underwear before going to the entrance. He waited and thought the punk had really started walking back after a few moments passed. He set his clothes on top of a dumpster near the door then backtracked to where he landed. He growled loudly seeing Kouzen being pestered by two guys. They drew weapons but he was faster, punching one in the jaw and kicking the other in the crotch. He grabbed Kouzen, not listening as he squeaked about being hurt. He took him quickly down the alley, grabbed his clothes and went inside, “Who are they?” “The guys from the store,” Kouzen said it sheepishly, “I froze when one grabbed me after you walked away. I should’ve fought them immediately.” “No, my prey doesn’t have to fight. That’s what I’m for,” Evander kissed his head, realizing he was scared. Kouzen shook his head no and he started putting his clothes on. “Van, let me go back out there. They have guns,” Kouzen lightly touched his arm and he growled at him in frustration. He got on his tiptoes, pressing another gentle kiss to his lips before hustling out. He needed to stop letting those soft touches daze him, they were just so mind numbingly sweet. He ran out to see Kouzen in his shroud, the two guys at the end of the alley having just started chasing them. He grit his teeth and then froze as he saw the scythe come out. Kouzen went at them with all he had and once they were both down he walked to him. The shroud had gone and he was kneeled down. He was shocked to see his hand shoved into the gash he’d made with a sick look of satisfaction. “Kouzen?” His head turned and Evander gently kneeled by him. “This is what is actually wrong with me. s**t like this is just… fascinating to me,” Kouzen looked ashamed of himself and Evander shook his head, stroking his cheek. “You’re a reaper. I think s**t like this is supposed to fascinate you. It’s…disturbing yes but, it’s not a deal breaker. I like you a lot, this doesn’t change that,” Evander pulled his hand out of the guy, getting blood on his fingers. “Evander,” he shook and Evander smiled, helping him get up. “Hey, get their pearls and we’ll go inside. You can call your dad on my phone. He calls the cops on me it’s whatever, okay?” Kouzen nodded and reached his hand down again before deciding to shoot vines of darkness down to collect them. He walked inside with Evander and he helped him clean his hands. No one should be coming but he still slipped out and moved the bodies so they were a little out of the way. Kouzen sat on the couch with the phone shaking in his hands. Evander sat next to him and nuzzled against his hair. He sighed and shakily dialed, putting himself into Evander’s lap as he called. He held him protectively, nose nuzzling into his neck with a soft rumble of affection, “Dad? Yeah it’s Kou—n-no, this is uh, this is Evander’s phone. No! Just hold on, listen!” Kouzen told his dad all about their day, leaving out their kissing of course. He could hear his dad demanding details and each time his little prey trembled he kissed his throat to remind him he was there. It ended with Nick stating he’d be right over and Kouzen sighed giving him his phone back, “He’s going to have a lot of questions.” “He’s not going to trust me, is he?” Evander already knew the answer as he moved to lay down, keeping Kouzen on top of him so he didn’t squish him this time. The game plan at this point was calm him down, maybe let him take a nap. “No,” Kouzen sat awkwardly straddling his waist. He looked so sweet sitting on him and he couldn’t help himself as he reached up, fingers wrapped around to the back of his neck and pulling him down for a deep kiss. His tongue ran lightly over the crease in his lips, parting them before wrestling his tongue into submission. He let out an amused moan at how flushed Kouzen became, it was like an instant change to pink. “Van,” He panted slightly as he broke free, “I’ve never, um.. no one’s ever wanted… me.” “I want you,” He smirked, pulling him back down. He nipped at his lower lip, pulling a groan from him. His hips rolled up and Kouzen’s fingers dug into his shirt, fists shaking, “Just relax, horns. I’m not going to do anything you don’t want to do, okay? I just need friction. It’s normal in situations like this.” Kouzen nodded, face red as he rolled his hips down nervously. Evander’s face brightened, realizing he was hard too, “My dad’s on his way. It really isn’t smart to do this right now.” “I know, but here we are,” Evander pushed his hips down to grind up to him with a steady rocking motion. Kouzen started spilling out soft noises and he smirked. He got louder, each noise a little bit of encouragement. He was letting go and that was good plus Evander was getting something out of it. He moved to place little love bites on his neck, leaving teeth marks up and down his skin. Each little bite caused Kouzen’s hips to stutter and a hiss of pleasure escaped him. “Van, Van it’s too much,” He pulled at his hands on his hips. He stopped, Kouzen’s face was red, sweat on his forehead. His hands had been flat on his chest, feeling his muscles and were not balled up in his shirt. “You gonna c*m just from that? No one’s ever touched you for real then, huh,” He snorted softly. He moved his hand slowly towards his zipper, giving him plenty of time to say no. Kouzen chewed his lip, holding his gaze. He had the zipper in his fingers and there was throat clearing coming from the other side of the room. “Kouzen,” Nick’s voice carried authoritatively across the room to them. Kouzen slapped his hand away and ducked down, hiding his face against Evander’s shoulder. “Dad! I’m sorry, hold on! I told him you were coming. You’re such a bad influence,” Kouzen smacked his chest lightly. Evander laughed, upset to have his petting session ended but amused at how his lover decided to handle it. He paused in thought, lover? He was definitely his lover at this point. Evander sat up with Kouzen still on his lap, “Hi Mr. Tarasov. Sorry.” “Evander,” Nick’s voice was so tight he thought he could stab him with it, “Kouzen, why are you with this boy? Not to mention your activities with him. I mean you’re 18, I should’ve expected you with someone by now but…him?” “It’s complicated. Oh gods, I can’t calm down,” his face was still buried against Evander’s shoulder, hiding in embarrassment. Evander could tell he was having trouble and slowly slid him away from him, hoping the loss of closeness would help. He got up, his own hard-on slow to dissipate. “Kouzen, I’m your dad. I get it, okay? You think me and your mom haven’t ever done something like this?” Nick crossed his arms, watching his son despair on the couch. Evander had to hold himself back from laughing as Kouzen let out an audible groan of disgust at picturing his parents in their exact positions. Evander had seen both his parents, he’d admit to anyone else it’d be worth paying to see. He saw the amusement on his dad’s face, this was dad torture, “How do you think you got here?” “Dad! Stop it, that’s disgusting! Problem solved, thanks,” Kouzen rolled off the couch frowning. His arms crossed over his chest as if trying to shield himself and he slowly walked over to his dad, “the bodies are downstairs.” Nick snapped into work mode without missing a beat, “You’re sure it’s the same guys?” At Kouzen’s nod the two walked back down to the alley. Evander followed a few steps behind, curiosity getting the best of him. Kouzen took him to where Evander had moved them and watched him retell the whole story to his dad. A small glance over to Evander made him realize he was nervous and he walked over slowly, taking his hand. He stood by as if this bothered him, not sure why he felt like he had to be a tough guy in front of Nick. Kouzen squeezed his hand and kept going. This did not go unnoticed by his father, a scowl setting in as he took in Evander’s presence. His eyes were fixed on their joined hands as he finished listening to the story, “Kouzen, remember what we talked about this morning? Maybe now’s the time. You took these guys out and you can show him.” “Show me what?” Nick looked to his son with a softness Evander was honestly surprised to see. He’d only ever seen him scowling and to see the love he held for his son was refreshing. “The pearls, I know you think I’m crazy but they’re real. They’re souls,” Kouzen kept his eyes down and Evander had to fight telling him he wasn’t crazy. “Kouzen, your mom and I have told you, your brain is creating the pearls as a stress response,” Nick sighed, hand going to his shoulder. “No, it’s not, they’re real. Look,” Kouzen was quick to pull one out, dropping Evander’s hand to grab his dad’s and show him. Nick tried to pull his hand away but froze when he finally saw the pearl. He blinked a few times before holding his hand out to take it. Kouzen shook his head no and tucked it back in his pocket. “Kouzen,” Nick didn’t know what to say but looked to Evander in awe. Evander smiled to his prey, nodding his approval. “It might be good to show him the thing you have to do too. It’s a lot, sharing it might help,” Evander offered helpfully. Kouzen blushed and nodded a little more, pulling both of them into his shroud with him. Nick tensed but Evander kept his cool, watching Kouzen produce a pearl. He activated the pearl and the man immediately began cussing at them all. “I have to pass them on too, I mean, I suppose I could just collect a lot of them and keep them but that’d be kind of ruthless I think,” Kouzen sighed as the guy just kept going. He started the memories and they swirled all around. He shook his head at the guy once they ended, “You’re just not a good guy either. I don’t think heaven’s really for you.” The ground opened up and swallowed him and Kouzen sighed heavily before doing the same for the second pearl. Once it was all done he was pulled into a hug by his dad, the man realizing the weight on his kids’ shoulders. He wasn’t mad at him, Kouzen hadn’t shown him, and he was thankful that he wouldn’t have to continue being angry at him for ignoring Kouzen’s abilities. “I’m sorry the gods put this on you, Kou,” Nick held him, stroking his back, “I’ll clean up the mess. Evander, I can’t forgive you for all you’ve put him through, but I can consider this a new starting point. If you hurt my son while you’re seeing him I will castrate you like a steer.” “I won’t put a hand on him that he doesn’t want on him, sir,” Evander showed his respect, smiling. Kouzen took his hand and looked at the building. “Dad… can we buy this building? I don’t want Evander to have to be worried about his hideout. Plus it can be my hideout, where I can do my thing with my powers. I get calls to collect souls in my head and I think it’s going to impact school and everything a lot, this place can help,” Kouzen fidgeted at his dad stared at the building then Evander. He put his hands in his suit pockets and then slowly nodded. “Yeah, I can do that for you kiddo. We’ll need to talk about school with your mom, you know how your mom is about education,” He stood awkwardly for only a second, “Get inside and I’m going to call my uh… my team to help. I’m not mad if you skip school for the rest of the day but don’t get pregnant or anything. Your mom will kill all of us, he’s not ready to be a grandma. Too young or some bullshit, he can be pretty vain.” Kouzen laughed and Evander tipped his head but decided not to ask questions. He gently pulled Kouzen inside, a grateful nod from Nick, “You dad surprisingly approves.” “Because you’re good for me. He’s not going to take away anything that is good for me,” Kouzen sat in his recliner. He didn’t know it was his recliner, he didn’t know the sins he’d committed in that recliner. The images that kept flashing when he went to plop his ass down. Now his little prey was in his favorite recliner. “Hey, is it safe to say… that we’re official now?” Evander sat in a sofa across from him, hoping the images of Kouzen splayed out like in that movie wouldn’t pop up right at the moment. “That’s kind of fast isn’t it? We just made this transition last night,” Kouzen smirked at him. “Even if we’re not official, anyone touches you I’m going to lose my s**t,” Evander leaned back on the couch. “Shut up and be my boyfriend already. I was teasing you,” Kouzen got up and plopped down on his lap, putting his horned head against his shoulder. “I’m pretty sure I was already your boyfriend, horns,” Evander kissed him, chest rumbling with joy as Kouzen laughed at him. He cuddled with him as they listened to the sound of the clean-up outside. He hadn’t ever really seen himself as the cuddling type but the way Kouzen just fit right into the curve of his arms made it seem right.
