The evening came and Kouzen found himself showered and in the outfit Benji had picked out. He looked at himself one more time, taking a steadying breath. His brother emerged one last time to give him a boost of confidence and bore the gift of accessories of which he made Kouzen try on several. Necklaces, ear cuffs, rings and bracelets were all brought out and in the end a simple black chorded choker and gold ear cuffs with little chains were placed on him.
He went downstairs and stood before his parents, Benji’s perfect model. He did a turn at his mom’s request and noticed the same grimace on his dad that Braydon had, had. His dad handed him the keys for his mom’s car and he was quick to hug them both before going and putting on his dress shoes to match his slacks. He had a feeling he was overdressed but he supposed at least he looked good.
He navigated his way to the homestead, arriving just a little early. The security guard at the gate stopped him and he smiled as he had him call Evander. He waited patiently and when Evander arrived he put the pass in his windshield and climbed in to be driven back without looking at him too closely. He drove to the tavern and parked on the street with Evander’s directions.
When they piled out Evander stopped dead in his tracks, staring at Kouzen, “Uh, it’s nothing… too fancy. I mean, I noticed the earring things but… hot damn, I don’t even want to go to dinner anymore. Look at that cake, Kou.”
Kouzen’s whole face lit up red, he knew what he looked like but he still looked himself over as if he didn’t know what Evander was talking about, “My brother dressed me.”
Evander laughed at him blurting it out in panic, stalking closer to him, “Can he dress you every day?”
“I’d appreciate if he didn’t if you’re going to get jealous at everyone who looks at me dressed this way,” Kouzen slowly convinced himself he was comfortable, relaxing.
“Mm, you’re right. I didn’t think about other people seeing you,” Evander grinned, wrapping his arm around his waist. Kouzen was reeling at the look in his eyes, Benji did know exactly what boys wanted apparently.
“Should we go inside?” Kouzen made to move for the door and Evander held him in place just a moment longer to appreciate him before taking him in. The Tavern was a little casual steakhouse, and everyone was staring but he wasn’t sure if that was because he was a stranger or because of how he was dressed. He looked Evander over smiling at his nice jeans and V-neck tshirt, he’d dressed up a little too.
“How was your day, horns?” He waved to the hostess as they walked in. He chatted with her very briefly to get their table and they were taken into the restaurant.
“Um, well I spent most of it with my brother making me try on a bunch of different clothes because he wanted you to see my curves,” Kouzen smoothed his hands over his shirt, “And none of my clothes did that so then I had to try on his clothes as well. He really likes fashion, I think it was just an excuse to play dress-up for him.”
“I’m seriously going to have to thank your brother,” Evander smirked then tipped his head in gratitude to the hostess as they arrived at the table. He pulled Kouzen’s chair out and let him sit then sat down himself. Kouzen rolled his eyes and gave a polite smile as he was handed a menu and they ordered drinks.
He’d been told first dates were awkward but so far he was having a good time. Everyone knew everyone, he noticed they were all talking and catching up with each other. Some even stopped by to talk to Evander, introducing themselves to Kouzen. That was the honest awkwardness, so many people actually wanting to shake his hand and say hello.
“They’re doing it because I’m the next Alpha, don’t mind them,” Evander sighed, still happy but appearing upset about something. He hesitantly reached across the table and took Evander’s hand.
“I think it’s nice they all are checking in. It’s honestly like going to my grandad’s house. You walk in and all my uncles and aunts are there. We’re all really close,” He nodded and grinned really big as Evander squeezed his hand.
"I’m glad it’s not bothering you,” Evander continued holding his hand and Kouzen felt more stares honing in on them. The waiter brought them their drinks and dinner rolls and the two of them ordered. Kouzen wiggled just a little in excitement making his boyfriend laugh at him.
“What was that?” Evander grinned, the feeling of upset seeming to melt away from him.
“I don’t know, this is my first date ever. I’m here with you. I’m just…,” Kouzen thought then unable to express his emotions wiggled a little again.
“It’s like you’re wagging your tail, stop being f*****g adorable,” Evander laughed more.
“Well, I am a dog demon. What else do you want from me?” Kouzen laughed with him.
“I have a new goal in life and that is to make you wiggle for the entire time we’re dating,” Evander let out one last little snicker, making Kouzen laugh harder. He dropped Evander’s hand to get himself a roll, buttering it then ripping it into smaller pieces as he ate. Evander watched him, taking bites directly from his roll. He seemed intrigued in the way Kouzen ripped it into smaller bites but didn’t ask about it.
“There’s a part of me that wants to be stubborn and tell you it’s not going to happen but I already know you make me happy so it’s probably going to happen like every freaking day,” Kouzen looked at him, a coy smile on his face.
Evander looked pretty pleased with himself then frowned, “I need to get something off my chest.”
Kouzen slowly sat his roll down, brow creasing in concern. His mind rushed with everything Evander could possibly have that expression in the middle of their date about. Clearly they weren’t breaking up, he just told him he wanted to make him happy every day. He motioned Evander to continue.
“So, I told you I told my parents but that’s because I wanted to avoid any problems if we got serious. There’s something I need to tell you too, in case we get serious. When I turn 19 I’ll have to go to Norway. I have to be with my Grand Uncle’s clan as he next Alpha. I’ll be back once my schooling and training is over but, you can’t come with me Kou. We’d be long distance,” He sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose.
“Is that it?” Kouzen smiled, quickly taking his hand again.
“That is so far from the reaction I was expecting,” Evander stared at him in surprise.
“I waited 18 years for someone outside of my family and teachers to be nice to me. Waiting for you to go through school is going to be a cake walk. Plus I get to text you every day, right? I didn’t have that at all before this,” Kouzen’s grin just grew and grew making Evander bow his head a little in relief. He was stunned into silence, Kouzen just waiting for him to process his words. Their food came and he thanked the waiter as Evander just squeezed his hand.
“I’m going to keep you, I swear to the gods. You’re surprisingly adorable, you’re so strong, you’re brave, you can be sexy apparently. Horns, what the hell did you do to me?” He let go of his hand after speaking, picking up his silverware to eat.
“I mean I hope you’re keeping me. I’m pretty sure I’m not going to find another dragon boyfriend to fly me around while I do my duties. Not to mention an Alpha Dragon, who else is going to protect me?” Kouzen laughed, looking up to see Evander absolutely enamored with him. He wasn’t sure what he’d said but the small rumbly purr told him he’d said something incredibly right. He loved that sound, “Van?”
The sound got a little louder at his nickname and Kouzen blushed. He chewed his lip a second then slowly began eating. Evander’s eyes were heavy with something Kouzen couldn’t place but he was glad when he started eating as well, “I will always protect you, Kouzen.”
“So much for not being serious yet, huh?” Kouzen gave a little snicker.
“I told myself it was too fast to feel this way, I’m not stupid. It’s new, when it’s new you feel like an i***t in love and you have to let it settle to know how you really feel. I still don’t want to jump the gun and say it’s love but, I think this is more serious than anything I’ve had before,” he was looking at him with a seriousness he didn’t usually have.
“That’s smart. I guess I just feel after everything I’ve shared I’m already in this full throttle. What do I lose if it goes bad?” Kouzen shrugged and Evander snorted at his outlook on their relationship. They ate peacefully and Evander gladly paid the bill. Kouzen wasn’t impressed by any means that he’d buy him a steak dinner given his family’s finances but he did like that it felt like he was providing for him.
“Want to go to my favorite spot on the homestead?” Evander put his arm around him as they left the restaurant. Kouzen nodded eagerly and he walked him down the street towards a park. Kouzen leaned his head on his shoulder as they went, nuzzling into his thick muscle.
Evander led him up a slope and stopped at the top and sat down. “This is where we come when we’re learning to fly because it’s up high enough you can jump and start your wings.”
Kouzen smiled as he looked out across the homestead then sat between Evander’s legs, pressing his back against his chest as his head rested on his shoulder. Van rolled his eyes at him, wrapping him up in his arms. “Sorry, I wanted the most comfortable spot.”
Evander purred and Kouzen snickered at his reaction. He froze as he felt warm lips against his neck, soft kisses peppering the column of pale skin. His head tilted to the side and Evander’s hands began running up his sides, “Does this make you uncomfortable?”
“Kind of. But like, okay uncomfortable?” He said it quietly, his mind telling him if he spoke too loud it might ruin the trance Evander was in. Evander nodded and stopped, settling for resting his hands right in the curves of his waist, “I didn’t say stop.”
Evander chuckled next to his ear, gripping him tighter and sliding his hips back against him. He was hard and it still surprised Kouzen that was his reaction to him. It wasn’t like he honestly thought he’d die alone, he thought eventually he’d find another horned man and they’d bond together and have little horned babies at some point. Instead he was in the arms of his bully, a strong dragon who for whatever reason found him attractive.
“Your dad’s not going to show up this time, is he?” Evander nipped at his ear, hands sliding up to run over his chest.
“If he shows up I’m disowning him,” Kouzen laughed a little, the noise coming out breathily as warm palms ran over his n*****s above his shirt. Evander laughed with him, moving his legs so they were spread wide over his thighs. Kouzen’s face flushed as those hands ran up the insides of his thighs, “This is more than at the clubhouse.”
“Mmhmm, is it too much?” His hands stopped again, gently massaging his thighs.
“No,” Kouzen shook his head, sliding his hips so Evander’s hands slid further up. Evander snorted and slid his hand where he wanted it, making his prey moan out. He felt a smirk against his shoulder and let Evander pull him so they could rock together again.
“Want me to pull it out this time?” Evander huffed against his ear, hot breath trailing across his skin.
“Van, we’re outside. Maybe that’s a bad idea?” Kouzen panted back to him, back arching as they moved.
“I’d f**k you right here if you wanted me to, horns. Tell me what you want,” Evander stopped moving all together to look at him.
“I don’t want that but… I do want you to touch me,” his voice trembled with embarrassment. Evander grinned and tipped his head to kiss him deeply, his hand quickly pulling his zipper down and stroking his prey. Kouzen cried out, body squirming in his lap making a loud groan roll out of Evander. He didn’t have time to be embarrassed about the fact his length was swallowed whole by Evander’s large palm. The dragon was rumbling again, his hips unrelenting as they ground against him.
“Kouzen, what are you feeling?” Evander nuzzled against his throat, starting to suck on his skin.
He let out a little noise of satisfaction, unable to make words he pushed his hips back making Evander hum. He worked his own hips between his fist and bulge, cheeks pink as he chased the feeling. Evander stopped his hips after a moment, reaching between them to free himself from his jeans. He pulled one of Kouzen’s hands back, running it along his length so he could feel.
“I don’t want to c*m in my pants,” Evander kissed and sucked little marks onto his neck as he shifted Kouzen to stroke them both in his hand. He was so big compared to Kouzen.
“Van,” he called out wantonly as he got closer to completion. Evander growled by his ear sending him over the edge. He cried out ending with a soft ‘f**k’ making Evander laugh. He felt his hand be dragged back down along the bigger length and he gladly stroked Van as repayment, feeling him breath and pant against his shoulder, biting into his skin as he roared through his orgasm.
“Kouzen, tell your brother to dress you for our next date too,” he laughed as he caught his breath, looking around for something to clean themselves up with. He peeled his shirt off after a moment and wiped any remnants of their activities off his lover. Kouzen preened under his attention, adoring being taken care of as Evander tucked him back into his slacks and helped him stand up.
Evander took care of himself next then got up. Kouzen smiled to him, accepting a soft kiss to his lips. He felt like he imagined a new baby horse would, his legs a little wobbly. Evander noticed, hiking him up onto his back and carrying him back down the slope. He wrapped himself around Van, nuzzling his head into dip between his shoulders and kissing the back of his neck.
“Don’t be getting me going again back there. You’ll never go home,” Evander snorted as Kou pressed another kiss to the back of his neck.
“Van, your skin is so warm,” Kouzen nuzzled again, reveling in the feel of a shirtless Evander under his cheek.
“You’re killing me, Kou,” He laughed as he took him back to his car and put him down by the driver’s door. Kouzen pouted up at him, his little effeminate instincts wanted to cuddle up and fall asleep. He was safe and warm a moment ago. Evander kissed his lips then his nose, “Have a good night, okay?”
“Yeah, okay,” He sighed. Evander opened the door for him and he started to sit down in the seat then stopped and popped back out, hugging him tight. Evander rumbled, holding him for a long moment before letting go and looking at him, “I’ll go home now.”
He rolled his eyes at his dragon, climbing into the driver’s seat. He let Van close the door and started the car, smiling as he got in the passenger seat to guide him out. When he got out at the gate he pouted again, “Get home safe. You can text me when you get there if you want.”
“Like I’m not going to text you whether you give me permission or not,” Kouzen scoffed and smirked. Evander rolled his eyes and patted the top of his car like one pats the hindquarters of a horse. He left, his mind buzzing with the events of the night. He liked dates, he decided. He also decided he’d have to thank Benji for lending him the shirt, and maybe ask him to get him a shirt just like it. Or a closet full of shirts like it. He’d remember this night for a long time, that was for sure.
