chapter seventeen

Dotun’s POV.

Have become a shadow of myself or so my friends told me, but what do I do when they all have a family to go back to after the close of work but I go back to an empty house, it's so funny and yet sad that this happened to me, I never cheated on my wife and yet she left, if only she could tell me what the problem was, I don't know what she thought happened so how do I correct her wrong impression.

Steve had a flat tyre today in his way to pick his kids from school so he gave me a call to help him out since his spare tyre had been used already, I obliged, I have nothing important to do anyway so I drove downtown, downtown is otherwise known as the closet city to where I stay, I rarely go to that side but a friend needed me and I have to help though I wonder why I was the one he called when he could have gotten someone not too far from him, picked him along the way and took him to his kids school, it was a 30minutes drive but the road to that city is not so busy so I got there in 20minutes, I felt he should have been more sensitive to my predicament and not bring up kids related issue to me but I have to trust that there is a reason for everything, while there I saw two kids seated close to the pick up stand but their back is all I saw though I felt drawn to them, I long to hold my kids once again and these kids seem to be just about the right Age for my Eddy and Emmy but they've moved far away so it can be them, but still I couldn't explain why I felt like playing with them, I started to get down from my car to approach them but as my leg was touching the ground they both stood up and ran towards a black lexus that just packed, they got in and the car drove off, I felt a strange sense of loss once again though I wonder why that is, since my own kids were far away already. I quickly said a prayer Oh God let this trial pass over me quickly, am loosing the strength and courage to move on.

Ire’s POV

I was a bit late to pick up my kids from school today, had to cast a slab and didn't want to leave until the workers were done but I had to leave them eventually, I called Tee to take over, he was one of my staff, I believe he should be able to handle, I still run my office in the former city but I rarely go there for fear of running into Dotun and have established another company here which is doing fine now. I got to my kids school and saw them sitting close to the pick up stand, they are such lovely children, they don't disturb much but kids will be kids so there are days I shout my lungs out, there is a car packed in front and it looks alot like Dotun's car, the plate number is even the same but what could he be doing around here, he had no business here, or... could you have. no no way.. I started panicking when I saw his car door open and his feet landed on the ground, surely it was him, but just then my kids ran up to the car and I quickly allowed them in the car and drove off, thank God have changed my car and my windows were tinted. ohh, narrow escape.
