Unexpected

"What have I gotten myself into? I should have just stayed back at home to avoid all these".

"Why are you behaving like you have lost your senses? What does it say by your time?" Frank asked.

"Answer me!!! He yelled.

Which of these questions should I even answer? I was really in a fix. I still didn't respond to his questions.

"You would not answer me yeah? Do you know I can walk you out of here and you'll kiss this job goodbye? You think there's anything special about you. You're just like any other person I've seen."

At this moment I became emotional. Tears gathered up in my eyes like rain ready to flow to my cheeks. No one had ever made a statement about me like that and here I was, standing and receiving the insults like a child. I just wanted to leave his sight, far away from all his troubles.

"Leave my office!!" Frank raised his voice at me, grinning like he had seen his prey ready to be devoured. Actually, I was his prey for the day. He probably was in a bad mood and needed to unleash his anger on someone. Deep down inside me, I wished he hadn't asked me to leave. Look at me, Lol...

One minute I wanted to leave, the next minute I'm dying to stay. I must be so crazy. I don't even know what I actually want. "You must be on your period!" I thought to myself. Deep down I had an unsatisfied desire that had been dying to be quenched.

I turned back and moved quickly towards the door. Just as I grabbed the doorknob and opened the door, Frank spoke.

"Stop! Shut the door and come here!" He instructed with a dominant voice

Did he just call me back? Even though I wished he did, I wasn't really expecting that. I closed the door and turned towards him. I stared for a while at this daring man. His stunning and dominant physique made me melt in my mind for him. He seemed to have calmed down after all the drama and character he was displaying. His facial muscles became relaxed as a bright gloom lit his face. I walked towards him and stood some distance afar from his table.

"Come closer" he added.

He stood up, coming at me, giving me some s****l looks and I could feel the heat of expectations spiking from within me. He stopped when he was few steps close to me. A satisfying smile found its way up to his lips. I gave a confused gaze, curious to know what had made his lips spread. I looked away as I couldn't keep up with gisy eye contact. It was just too piercing.

"Why do you just find pleasure in pissing me off?"

"What?" I asked not because I had no idea of where he was heading to with the question but I didn't want to be silent again so as not to get him offended.

He took his hands and put them on my cheek. "OMG!!!" I was dumbfounded. Was this really happening?. I didn't want to come off so easy. I gently brought his hands down and chuckled.

"I have a presentation by 2pm today. Get yourself prepared."

"I don't know what I'm supposed to do sir. It's my first day at work" I said with a low voice and my head bowed down like I was looking for something on the floor.

He opened up his drawer and brought out a copy of his presentation and handed it over to me. "Take a glance at it" He said.

From what I had come to Know, Frank's company was a very large one having dealings across the country. It was one of the promising investors across the globe. It hadn't even dawned on me yet that I'm the secretary to such an influential figure. I guess luck had just found out my location. Frank inherited the company from his father who was down in health and wasn't able to continue the business. He handed it over to Frank despite him being the second child because his elder brother didn't really have interest in all of that.

I was done having an overview of the presentation and then I went to his office and knocked.

"Sir it's 5 minutes to presentation time"

"I'll be down in a minute" He said.

The presentation began and was going as expected when suddenly he lost track of his lines. He tried to restart but it was just strange to him. I could see in his eyes that he'd love me to continue. I stood up and looked at all the investors sitted for the presentation. Then I finally turned to Frank and he winked and gave me the go ahead.

"Grace Global Limited company has been one of the strifing and reliable companies across the globe in the past decade. This is where dreams of influential investors are made into reality. Your secrets are safe with us. With Grace Global Limited company, you can achieve success at any level. I promise that you won't regret partnering with us". I ended with a smile on my lips.

A resounding round of applause hit the room. They all stood up, jamming their hands together for me. I just kept on smiling and dropping my head in appreciation. I shook hands with everyone alongside my boss. He wasn't really being cheerful. I became scared, wondering if it was because of me.

When we were done, he moved straight to his office without even letting me know. Few minutes later, he sent for me. My heart raced. I just wished it wasn't what I was thinking. I remembered being told of the phrase "Never outshine your master".

"Hmm..." I breathed heavily in and out before stepping into his office.

"I guess I underestimated you. You did well back there."

"Thank you sir" I replied.

He paused for a while, giving a little smirk and trying so hard not to look to excited, he then said, "We should celebrate". He went to his wine board and took a Champaign with two wine glasses. He popped the wine open and poured some into the glass and handed one to me.

"Cheers!" He said. I smiled and clashed my glass with his, making a loud sound. Then we drank and laughed over everything that happens during the presentation. It was already past 5 in the evening and I had to leave on time so I'd get home before the traffic would get worst.

"See you on Monday" He said. I quickly hurried to the door to find my way home.

"Do you mind if I drop you off?"

"What the f...!". I whispered.
