칠십 이위 왕관 (72)
“Wow, I’ve never been so bored all my life until today.”
Jae Kyung murmured as she watched Netflix inside her room, almost playing with the remote control searching for some great shows and movies to binge-watch. Prince Yi Eul is not around due to his solo schedules meeting some officials, important personalities, and such so she was left alone doing stuff on her own since she didn’t have any schedules to deal with.
Although she was happy that she didn’t have to be with the Crown Prince all the time, still, she found herself starting to get bored.
“I’m bored,” she’s totally bored that even binge-watching a movie couldn’t cure her said boredom. “What should I do right now?”
[ And for today’s cake recipe, we’re going to make red velvet cake—of course, with a twist. ]
That made Jae Kyung sits up properly and stared at the flat-screen television. “Right! That’s it! That’s what I’m going to do!”
Sis, you can’t bake. You only knew how to make cookies and some tiny pastries but you can’t bake a cake.
“Huh. I’m a fast learner. I could just study how to make this cake, watch some tutorials and follow instructions and voila! I could bake a red velvet cake! Right! Let’s do it!”
The servants were worried. Really worried.
“Is Her Highness okay?”
They looked at each other then to Jae Kyung who finally manage to do the dough albeit the whole kitchen is now a whole disaster because of the flour all over the place.
“Should we help her?” one of the servants asked worriedly. “I’m honestly scared that she might burn the kitchen in no time.”
“She’s just doing the dough yet. She hasn’t turned the oven on yet so just relax,” one of the servants responded to her and tapped her shoulder. “Just relax.”
“How could I relax if she’s doing a major mess in the kitchen right now. Gosh, His Highness will definitely scold us.”
“Should we help her now?” one of the servants interrupted them, slightly pointing to Jae Kyung. “Her Highness is now bathing herself with flour and she took almost two hours doing the dough.”
“Even if we want to, we can’t. She told us that she’ll bake on her own and we can’t help her.”
“It’s painful to watch, I know. But we couldn’t lend a hand for her to help. She strictly told us that.”
“But—”
“No. We should obey her or else we’ll get scolded if we—”
They flinched when Jae Kyung screamed when she dropped some ingredients for the cake and even cringe when she cursed and almost whine when she dropped some syrup on the floor.
“I think this is the time that we should definitely help her,” one of the servants said, making the other servants nod in agreement.
“She might burn the kitchen if we don’t help her.”
“We should before Her Highness could make a bigger mess in the kitchen. We should help her before we suffer the possible outcome of this. Help now, punishment later.”
“Yes, let’s go,” the servants finally decided to barge in the kitchen and help Jae Kyung.
“Wait—”
“What’s happening here?” they stopped in their tracks when they heard Prince Yi Eul’s voice. They quickly faced him and bowed in front of him, having a glimpse of his scowling face.
Scary. His Royal Highness is indeed scary.
“Go-Good afternoon, Your Highness. Welcome home,” they greeted him as they bowed.
“Ah!” they all flinched, even the Crown Prince slightly flinched when they heard some kitchen utensils falling on the tiled floor. Servants bet that those are the baking utensils.
Her Highness is making so much disaster inside the kitchen.
Without any more queries, Prince Yi Eul spoke. “All of you, move.”
“You-Your Highness, you can’t. You can’t enter the kitchen right now,” one of the servants bravely stepped forward to stop him.
Prince Yi Eul stared at her bluntly. “How dare you telling me what to do?”
“I apologized for my boldness act, Your Highness but for the sake of Her Highness’ instruction, we must obliged not to let you enter the kitchen and disturb her,” the servant responded.
So, Jae Kyung is inside making an obvious mess, huh? Prince Yi Eul spoke again. “Move, servant.”
The servants looked at each other and feeling so defeated, they moved and gave the Crown Prince a way to enter the kitchen. Prince Yi Eul entered the kitchen and closed the door, making the servants feel more scared and anxious about what will happen inside.
“Damn, you’re seriously making a mess in my kitchen.”
Jae Kyung gasped and immediately turned her head to Prince Yi Eul who’s looking at the kitchen in pure disgust, cringing about the flour everywhere. “Wha-What are you doing here?!”
“Obviously, I went home after my appointments and now I saw you making a mess in my kitchen.”
She scratched her head in embarrassment as she spoke. “I-I’m sorry. I was just so bored that I decided to make some cake and I tried my best to learn but I didn’t realize that it’s not that easy. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make a mess in the kitchen. Haah, I bet the servants were worried about me.”
“Nah, they’re not worried about you. They’re worried that you might burn the kitchen,” Prince Yi Eul said as he walked towards her.
“What?! No, that’s not my—” she stopped talking when Prince Yi Eul cupped her left cheek and wiped the flour away.
She’ll admit, that actually made her heart skip a beat.
Is this what you feel when you like someone that even the smallest thing they’ll do will make your heart skip a beat, make your heart flutter, gives you butterflies in your stomach, and make you blush? Damn. Just damn.
“Flour is used for bake, not for facial,” Prince Yi Eul chuckled as he kept on wiping the flour away from her face.
“Ugh, it hurts! Stop!” Jae Kyung tried to stop Prince Yi Eul’s hand but the latter just even rubbed her cheeks more and ended up squishing her cheeks and made her lips pout like a fish. She got annoyed at first but when she heard Prince Yi Eul laugh, she couldn’t help but laugh as well.
“You should definitely clean yourself up, you crazy woman. I can’t take you somewhere if you’ll look like this.”
That made Jae Kyung stare at the Crown Prince in awe.
Wait what? Take me somewhere? A-Are we going on a date??? No waaaaay! Seriously???
“U-Uh, where… where are we going?”
“We’re going to meet the Shins. My mom’s family. They wanted to meet you.”
