A Day to Day

1176 Words
For Ashley Winter, what started soon after her eighth birthday was to start walking to school each day, usually monday through to friday, unless something of higher priority occurred. Andrew was five years old then and spent his time around their mother, whom busied herself either making sure that he was well fed and not going to have a dirty diaper, or underwear at that age. ~~~~ "Miss Ruega Winter, your daughter Ashley is here to see you." Ashley knew this man was either a werewolf watching for any unwanted actions, or a regular human who knows about the actions her mother done. The man was dressed well, almost like he was ready for a business meeting or to attend to a courtroom session. "Thank you, may I have some privacy to speak with my mother." Ashley asked pointedly, her tone low and sharp as it was heard. Anyone else would of felt a chill from her, as she only sent a hostile look to anyone who tried to stop her from speaking with Ruega Winter, but a more neutral expression if no one stopped her. "Miss Ruega... Mom, Andrew and I met the pack earlier..." She spoke softly to her mother, giving her mom a tight hug before sitting down together. Miss Ruega Winter was a slender woman, wavy long plum purple hair that was voluminous and rather lengthy. She had an ample bosom and a fair figure, where she stood about five foot and five inches tall, before being held in custody from her past. Miss Ruega turned towards Ashley, her winter gray eyes focused on her daughter, and seemed to sharpen almost as she heard what was said. Ashley's own eyes were an Azure color, light blue and grey misty coloring and Andrew's own eyes were a nomad color, explosion from bright color to dark, orange to green exterior. "They will try and sway you and Andrew to their side. Before they can, stop them. Nip that in the bud." Ruega bluntly spoke, her hands jerky, and one moved in a quick pinch at something invisible in the air as emphasis it seemed for Ashley. "What happened? Who was my father?" Ashley asks once more, a question she asked when there was a lull in conversation when they were at home, but now it was just a different location that she asked about this mysterious person who was part of her family. A deep sigh then was heard, Ashley turning to her mother curiously, for heavy sighs usually was a sign for something was giving or going to be armored up, internally so. "Your father was a wonderful man, I told you this many times Ashley, he was kind and hard working. I think that house you stay in now is his home he got for us." She spoke, lifting the back of her hand to press her wrist gently against her eye to dab away tears before continuing with her story. "I remember it well, but can not recall if you were born by then or not, but your father and I were happy until... until we were not." she moved her hand to cover her mouth, stopping a gentle sob and to move her other arm to hug her daughter close. After a few moments, holding each other close felt like an awkward situation and they slowly separated and were quiet. "Ashley Winter, your father was wonderful... I will never forgive those who took him away from me." Ruega seemed to mutter the other half to herself more so than to her daughter, but it was heard all the same. Ashley was not sure whether to have a small sense of fear that her mother will go too far for revenge or prideful that such loyalty exists, since she hopes her mother or brother would feel the same for her, if something were to happen. Miss Ashley Winter, your visitation time is over. You will need to call for another time to meet Miss Ruega Winter." The same man from before spoke, and walked up to gently guide her by the shoulder up and away from the other woman and out the facility. ~~~~ Ashley kept her plans rather scheduled and planned for anything, but if something unpredictable were to occur she moved with it accordingly. She could only roll with the changes really, and still wonder on what has happened, for she still does not know her father or much about Andrew's father. Ashley left for school since she was in her Senior year of high school and was determined to have a chance in any college that comes up. She did not plan too far ahead in what school she hopes to get, but wants the opportunities open to her. Andrew is in middle school, his final year before starting high school and even he has a niche of things he likes doing. He could be seen as an athletic, and sporty guy, but that was just how his body was built to look like. While his actual hobbies went to reading and studying, but sometimes he enjoyed cooking with either herself or mom, but more because she am around. Shaking her head, she found herself in front of her school building and wondered, "Where will I go after this?" She thought softly to herself, before walking into the building to grab her schedule. Her schedule for the year was for her to test out where she could go in college courses as well. morning 1st class was p.e. which had a gym outside or in a building that was more like a car port large enough for a couple dozen planes, for it is to get some fitness and wake herself up slowly by doing it. her second class, in the morning still, was chemistry in room 140, where she could take a breather and focus on other enjoyment. third, class was nutrition in room 111, where she could work on personal health and help keep herself and Andrew healthy. Lunch time, where there are a few different times one at 10:45 to 11:20 for one lunch, 11:40 to 12:15 as a second possible lunch and last possible time for the students to get a lunch is 12:30 to 1:05 and it seems pretty solid for having lunch just at one of those times. fourth class is advanced math in room 40, which was as heard by so many people, needed in society in general. fifth class was focused on writing in room 102, which was just Ashley's way of trying to be well rounded in different subjects and matters.  Sixth and last class, was where she was stuck between a study hall to take a type of breather, or another A.P. class for hopefully getting further ahead in her goals. Even though she was still figuring out her future, she knows she wants to live far away from the people who had hurt her mother, whether she took revenge or not is another idea for her altogether.
