“I know who you remind me of,” Malibu said. They were inside the Engineer’s shop. Toby and Scott weren’t there, but Bevis and Butthead were. The dogs were rigid, on alert, but noticeably more relaxed than Malibu’s previous two visits.
“I assume this means the job is complete and you’re ready to have your memory washed,” the Engineer said, ignoring her comment.
Malibu returned the favor and ignored his question. “The Bowery King. In the John Wick movies. The character played by Laurence Fishburne.”
Malibu could feel the zeros and ones start to flow from his mind. The Engineer was processing. “Is Keanu Reeves in those movies?”
“That’s right.”
“I thought the Fishburne character’s name was Morpheus.”
