Forty Thursday, March 25, 5:08 P.M. CST Tranquility Bay Resort “Hey, mon, it’s time to go.” Thomas woke from a deep, dreamless nap, his parched mouth feeling like it needed an entire barrel of water. He was in a hammock, and Ruben stood before him, blocking the setting sun. The sky was a riot of red streaks. Ruben held out a drink to him. “It’s from Tess.” Thomas took it. It held a thick green mixture. “What is it?” Ruben smiled. “Mon, I just know that if Tess made it, it’s good for you and has nothing created by animals in it. Just drink it and let’s go. I got the tanks refilled.
