So now they were six months in, halfway through the one-year maximum treatment period promised. So far, so good. The third quarter began much as the other two had, with bathing, shaving, and monster-baiting, followed by words of explaining – and warning. As Doreen brushed his freshly washed and blow-dried hair (now significantly longer) and pulled it into a ponytail she began by praising him lavishly.
