"You don't have to pack so much."
I looked up from where I was crouched on the bedroom floor, my fingers fumbling with a tangled heap of clothes. Gavin stood in the doorway, peaking down at me, his voice carrying a gentle hint of amusement.
I glanced at the overflowing suitcase beside me. Clothes were crammed haphazardly, spilling over the edges as if trying to escape the confines of the bag. “I just want to be prepared,” I said, attempting to sound nonchalant even though my anxiety about the trip was manifesting in a frantic overpacking ritual.
Nakasanayan ko na talaga mag impake nang napakarami kahit saan man mapunta. Saka, hindi ko alam kung ilang araw o linggo kaming mananatili doon. Hangga't maaari, doon muna ako hanggang sa umayos ang kalagayan ni Mommy.
