My nemesis

Tyler didn't want to break into the bar, so he drove home with the hope of getting any news from the police the next day or checking the surveillance cameras for information. The next morning, Tyler decided to go back to Hailey's house and, to his greatest surprise, he found Hailey at home. He almost ran mad, but he decided to keep his cool. He asked her why she had left without him, where she had gone to and what had happened. She looked at him and told him she owed him no explanation. Tyler remained quiet and didn't say anything. He was just relieved that she was okay. “I just wanted to go home without a bodyguard,” Hailey said. Tyler knew she wasn't being honest with him, but he didn't ask any further questions. After a few minutes, her phone rang. It was an unknown caller. This time she decided to pick, but as she was about to shout at the caller, she heard a familiar voice. It was Henry, Hailey's ex-fiance. 2 years ago, Mister Jones had proposed a marriage between his beautiful daughter Hailie and Henry, who was a billionaire and a prominent businessman. The minute Henry laid his eyes on Hailey he couldn't get them off her. It was as if he saw an angel descend from heaven in human form. He loved her so much and was willing to do anything to have her at that instant, but Hailey wasn't interested in marrying anybody. She just wanted to party, have fun and be beautiful because she felt no man was worthy of her. She loved hooking up with different men and having fun with them. She wasn't ready to be tied down to just one man in the name of marriage. They went out a couple of times and had fun, but when Henry proposed to Hailey she rejected him publicly without hesitation. This made Henry very upset. She gave her reasons for the rejection, but Henry couldn't take it as it was embarrassing and it ruined his reputation. Henry went to the extent of threatening Hailey's Dad and this pissed Hailey even more. She decided to officially break up with Henry. Henry did all he could to win Hailey back, but Hailey didn't want him. He couldn't leave with the fact that the woman he loved didn't love him in return, so he started taking drugs and alcohol. He became an addict and his addiction started affecting his business. He almost lost his company due to his excessive intake of alcohol and drugs. There was a time he was so drunk that he snuck into Hailey's house and tried to kill her, but she narrowly escaped. This left Hailey traumatized and scared for a while. He decided to go to a rehabilitation center and that was the last Hailey heard from him. It was a year now, and she had almost forgotten about him. “Hi darling, I believe you know who is talking. I'm back for you. You've been a naughty girl since I've been away. Is that how you treat your fiancé you've not seen for a very long time?” Henry asked on the phone. It turned out that Hailey had followed the handsome stranger because the sight of Henry scared her. She thought she was done with that chapter. But now she realized that the phone call was just the beginning of her misery. As Tyler turned his back to leave, Hailey called him back. She told him how scared she was when she saw an old friend of hers and had followed a stranger because she didn't see Tyler anywhere. She didn't want to go into details, but Tyler knew it was not just an old friend, and it was more than that. He didn't bother asking any more questions. He told her to lie down and try to get some rest as she was looking tense. She told him not to leave the house and that she wasn't feeling comfortable, so he decided to stay in the living room that night. Hailey finds herself drawn to Tyler. Apart from being handsome, Tyler is very reserved and understanding. He quickly recognizes things the way they are, no matter how much they disguise. Hailey was finding it hard to sleep, so she decided to go downstairs. There she finds Tyler. He was already fast asleep. She couldn't help but notice how perfectly built his body was. “How can one man have it all?” she said to herself. As she moved closer, Tyler immediately jumped up and this made Hailey and Tyler fall to the ground. Their eyes locked for some seconds without uttering a word. They stayed there for some seconds and Hailey tried to kiss him, but he refused and immediately got up. Hailey had never been this embarrassed before her face turned red. He quickly apologized, covered his abs with his clothes and then went to the bathroom. “What is wrong with me? Is he the only man and why am I so attracted to a mere bodyguard? Is it because he looks so familiar? Maybe I had a fling with him some time ago and that's why I can't remember” Hailey was lost in thoughts. “Am I that needy that I'll throw myself on any man and, to make matters worse, an ordinary bodyguard”. Hailey felt really embarrassed, and she decided to go back to her room. The next morning, Hailey woke up very tired. It was as if she had labored all through the night. She stood up to open her curtains. The sun was so bright it almost blinded her eyes. The brightness of the sunlight was so sharp she had to close her eyes. She sluggishly went into the bathroom to wash her face and brush her teeth, then she moved downstairs to get breakfast. Getting downstairs, she saw Tyler already dressed. Immediately he saw her, his heart skipped a beat. He immediately stood up to greet her, but she couldn't look up to him. She didn't want it to be obvious that she was shy. Tyler noticed the awkward look on her face and knew it was from the incident of last night. He couldn't imagine himself with a lady as cold as Hailey, and he also didn't want a little fling to ruin his career's reputation. He never imagined the billionaire heiress falling for him, so he was just observing the kind of games she was playing. She quickly answered and turned to the maids who greeted her. She told them what she would love to have for breakfast and went back upstairs. He watched her as she walked majestically like his world solely depended on her steps. He didn't know what he was looking for in her steps. He was lost for some minutes as he couldn't help but stare and admire her as she climbed the stairs, but as she turned back stylishly, he quickly turned his eyes, pretending not to be looking at her. Minutes later, Tyler's phone rang. Hello sir Yes sir. Was the only thing Tyler said throughout the call.
