It was Hailey's father. He called Tyler to inform him that Hailey's ex is in town, and he also needs to protect her from him.
Tyler remembered yesterday's incident and quickly pieced everything together. Apart from being handsome, cool-headed, reserved and quiet, he is also very smart and intelligent, so it's very hard to fool him.
Hailey's breakfast was ready in 5 minutes, and the maids asked Tyler to help them inform Hailey that her breakfast was ready.
He immediately got up from the chair he was sitting on and walked towards the stairs. As he was about to take the first step, the door to the living room flung open from outside.
A wealthy looking young man walked in.It was Henry. He had decided to visit his fiancé, according to him.
He entered and smiled mischievously.
Looking at Tyler, he asked in a British accent.
“Are you the new pet daddy got for our darling little princess?”
This statement infuriated Tyler, but he remained reserved and didn't say a word.
Tyler quickly realized that he was the ex Mr Jones informed him about. He walked towards him with confidence, greeted Henry politely and asked him to leave.
This pissed Henry.
He turned around, looked up and smiled. “How dare you disrespect me?” He said and was about to punch him, but Tyler overpowered him. Tying his hands to his back, he bundled Henry out of the living room and out of the compound.
This infuriated Henry and he promised to be back.
“You think you've won ? You'll hear from me.” Henry threatened as he entered his car. Fuming, he drove off.
The scuffle between Tyler and Henry alerted Hailey, but before she could go downstairs, Tyler had already bundled Henry out of the premises.
Tyler walked in looking like nothing had just happened. He maintained his cool and, as always, he looked sharp.
Hailey asked what the whole issue was all about. Though she knew it was Henry, she wanted to fool Tyler by acting like she didn't know who it was.
Tyler knew this was Hailey trying to fool him, but he replied sincerely that she shouldn't worry about anything and that he had taken care of the problem.
“Okay, I hope you slept well?” Hailey asked.
She wanted to talk to him about the previous night, but she didn't know how to start the conversation.
They both stood there speechless for about thirty minutes before Tyler finally broke the silence. He cleared his throat and told her it was okay.
“Breakfast is ready,” he added after a brief silence.
She quickly moved to the dining room, and she was immediately served what she requested.
Tyler stood at the entrance of the dining room watching her eat.
She looked so angelic. Everything was so perfect. She had the perfect shape and the perfect body. He couldn't help but stare at the beautiful piece of art.
He watched as she took a spoon full and put it in her mouth. It was heavenly for him to see at that moment nothing mattered to him anymore. She was beautiful in all ways, from the way she walks to the way she talks to the way she eats, she was a perfect piece. Every piece of her was perfectly placed in the right places. He couldn't help but wonder how someone could be so perfect. She was beyond words.
She noticed Tyler was lost in his thoughts, so she fake coughed just to bring him back to reality. She asked him if he had eaten. This was surprising to the maids present there. Their mouths opened wide in shock as their jaws dropped. Hailey had never cared for anyone but herself.
“Not yet, ma'am,” he answered firmly. She asked him to join her at the table, and he politely declined, but she insisted, and he sat beside her but didn't touch the food.
The maids brought Tyler's food, and he began to eat. Unaware of her feelings for him, he began to wonder what games she was playing.
Tyler wanted to speak, but they spoke at the same time. This was funny for Hailey and she blushed. Her face already turning pink, he looked at her and cleaned a piece of food stuck at the side of her lips with his hands, and they locked eyes staring at each other speechless. Hailey didn't know how to react to this and Tyler didn't know how and why he did that. This was weird for both of them. He just watched as she stylishly blushed, and her cheeks bloomed red. She was indeed a sight for sore eyes.
The atmosphere was already becoming tense. Everyone could feel the tension between the two of them.
Tyler stood up, immediately cleared his throat, said thanks and left.
Hailey was left speechless. She was helpless against Tyler's charm. She liked the way he wasn't subdued by her. This made her so attracted to him. She didn't know how to bend him or resist him. She felt like holding him and telling him how she felt, but then she's a very beautiful girl who would get any guy she wanted, but it seemed as if Tyler was oblivious to her beauty, like he wasn't seeing how beautiful she was.
Tyler went outside the house to catch his breath because it was so intense, and he was almost losing his composure.
Though he noticed her behavior towards him changed, he didn't want to misread the situation. He wanted to be on the safer side.
It was certain he would do anything to have her in his arms, but he couldn't say it to her because he was so beneath her in all aspects. Then the thought of how cold she treats people and how ill-tempered she was made his feelings for her sore. He wished they had met under different circumstances.
He remembered how she had treated him and his cousin so badly on a fateful night. He knew if he hadn't been this close to her, he wouldn't have known how lovely she was.
But it still didn't change the fact that she had caused his cousin his dream career.
He was still lost in his thoughts when an associate of his called to inform him about a shady business that Hailey's father was involved in.
This shady business had been going on for quite a while now, but they needed concrete proof before they could move into action.
One of Mister Jones' shady businesses had gone wrong, which eventually led to the death of his wife, Hailey's mother.
Now it's like history is repeating itself. Tyler was determined to get to the roots and discover the secrets Mister Jones was trying so hard to hide, although he knew how dangerous it would be for him, but he didn't care much, even if it meant putting his life on the line.
He knew from the onset that Mr Jones wasn't totally honest with him, but he knew he would find out eventually.
