Chapter five

Sophia The faint hum of the refrigerator in her Riverside apartment did nothing to drown out the memories flooding Sophia’s mind. Every time she closed her eyes, she was back in Marcus Blackwood’s powerful, intoxicating, and dangerously addictive world. That first night on his desk had shattered every professional boundary, and what followed only pulled her deeper into his darkness. Two weeks after that midnight encounter, Sophia found herself in the private elevator reserved for executives, heart racing as it ascended to the penthouse level of Blackwood Tower. Marcus had sent a single text at 9:30 p.m.: “I want you in my penthouse in twenty minutes. Don’t be late.” She stepped out into the lavish space, floor-to-ceiling windows offering a breathtaking view of the glittering city. Marcus stood near the bar cart, swirling a glass of amber liquid. The first three buttons of his shirt were unbuttoned, exposing his pumped chest and a bit of his rock hard abs. He looked like sin, spelt in every language. “You came,” he said, his voice a low rumble that sent shivers down her spine. He set the glass down and stalked toward her, eyes dark with hunger. “Did I have a choice?” Sophia replied, lifting her chin in challenge even as desire pooled between her thighs. She wore a simple trench coat over her dress, knowing exactly what he wanted. Marcus’s lips curved into that dangerous smile. “You always have a choice, Sophia. But we both know you crave this as much as I do.” He reached out, his fingers tracing the belt of her coat before tugging it open slowly. The coat fell to the floor, revealing a fitted black dress that hugged every curve. “Beautiful,” he murmured, backing her against the cool glass window. The city lights sparkled far below as his body pressed into hers. “On your knees.” Sophia’s breath hitched. The power play thrilled her. The way he commanded and she surrendered, only to push back just enough to make him earn it. She sank gracefully to her knees on the plush carpet, her hands sliding up his thighs to his belt. She undid it with deliberate slowness, maintaining eye contact the entire time. “Look at you,” Marcus said, voice rough with approval. He threaded his fingers through her hair, not guiding yet, but ready. “So eager to please your boss after hours.” She freed him, hard and heavy in her hand. “Only because my boss knows how to make me wet with a single text.” Without waiting for permission, she took him into her mouth, her tongue swirling around the tip before sliding down as far as she could Marcus groaned, hips jerking forward. “f**k, Sophia. That smart mouth of yours… perfect.” She worked him with skill and enthusiasm, alternating between long, slow sucks and fast, teasing strokes of her tongue. His grip in her hair tightened, controlling the pace now, pushing her head deeper onto his d**k until she gagged slightly. Tears pricked her eyes, but she didn’t pull away. The raw dominance turned her on more than anything. “Enough,” he growled suddenly, pulling her up and spinning her around to face the window. He yanked her dress up over her hips and yanked her lace thong down her legs. “Hands on the glass.” Sophia braced her palms against the cool surface, with her legs spread apart. Marcus kicked her feet wider apart. She heard the tear of a condom wrapper, then felt the blunt head of his c**k pressing against her entrance. “Tell me how badly you want it,” he demanded, teasing her slick folds with shallow thrusts. “I want you to f**k me hard, Marcus,” she gasped, pushing back against him. “Make me feel you for days.” With a satisfied grunt, he slammed into her in one brutal thrust. Sophia cried out, the sound echoing in the vast penthouse. He set a punishing rhythm, one hand on her hip, the other reaching around to rub tight circles on her c**t. “Yes… just like that,” she moaned, pushing back to meet every thrust. The glass fogged with her breath as pleasure built rapidly. Marcus leaned over her, his teeth grazing her shoulder. “You’re mine after dark. This p***y belongs to me. Say it.” “It’s yours,” she whimpered, so close to the edge. “All yours, Marcus.” He pinched her c**t and thrust deep, sending her spiraling into orgasm. Sophia screamed his name as waves of pleasure crashed over her, her p***y clenching around him. Marcus followed seconds later, burying himself to the hilt with a deep groan, pulsing inside her. They stayed connected for a long moment, breathing heavily. Marcus pressed soft kisses along her neck, a rare gentleness after the storm. “Stay the night,” he murmured against her skin. Sophia turned in his arms, searching his eyes. “Is that wise? What if someone sees me leaving in the morning?” “Let them talk,” he said, though they both knew the rules. He scooped her up effortlessly and carried her to the master bedroom. “I’m not done with you yet.” In the king-sized bed, he took her again but slower this time, face to face, his gray eyes locked on hers as he moved deep and steady. Sophia wrapped her legs around his waist with her nails raking down his back. “You feel incredible,” he whispered, kissing her deeply. For a moment, the ruthless CEO disappeared, replaced by a man who seemed almost vulnerable in his desire. “No one else gets this. Only you.” The words sent fresh heat through her. She came again, softer this time, pulling him over the edge with her. They collapsed together, their limbs tangled and their sweat-slicked skin cooling in the air-conditioned room. Later, as moonlight filtered through the windows, Sophia traced patterns on his chest. “Why me, Marcus? You could have any woman in the city.” He caught her hand, pressing a kiss to her palm. “Because you challenge me. You’re brilliant in the boardroom and nasty in my bed. You don’t simper or beg for my attention like the others.” His voice dropped. “And because when I’m inside you, the rest of the world disappears.” Sophia smiled, but a small ache bloomed in her chest. She wanted more than stolen nights, yet she accepted the terms. For now. The next morning, she slipped out before dawn, taking the private elevator down. No one saw her and their secret remained safe. Back in her Riverside apartment, Sophia sat up in bed, her heart pounding from the vivid memories. Those nights had been intoxicating. Marcus made her feel alive in a way no one else ever had. But his promises and affections were built on sand. She touched her belly, where their child grew. “He gave me pleasure, little one, but never his heart. That’s why we’re here now. Safe and away from him.” Tears slipped down her cheeks as more flashbacks hovered at the edges of her mind. The arguments that turned into passionate make-up s*x, the late-night strategy sessions that ended with her bent over his desk, the ra re moments when Marcus almost let his walls down. She had fallen hard. Now she had to live with the consequences.
