She laid Rio's head on her lap before stroking his face to wake him up. "Rio! I'm already here. Dear, awake! Rio! Awake!" She shouted before hugging Rio.
She shook his body several times unconsciously. He seemed lifeless and pale. Serene sobbed and screamed to wake her husband. "Rio, please .. wake up! This is not possible!"
She patted Rio's face as tears continued to flow from her eyes. She tries to wake him up but he doesn't wake up.
"Rio, please .. wake up .. you promised me, didn't you? You said you were going home alive, didn't you? That you wouldn't be harmed? She asked while patting his face.
She could feel her heart being squeezed. She did not expect that this would be the end of him. The extent of what Eve did to make her do this to Rio.
Serene tightened her embrace with Rio.
