Chapter five : Twisted Fate

1014 Words
Damien's POV Shit sucks so bad! Why was I always getting entangled with Lionel's affairs? I hated the fact that our parents were always comparing us. Now I've gotten myself involved in this mess. I really hope no one else finds out about what happened between me and his new bride, otherwise I'll be dead. I sighed heavily again and moved towards my balcony, closing my eyes as the fresh air washed over me. Nothing will happen. No one will know about our little secret. The girl looks like she definitely doesn't want anyone to know, so I'm sure she wouldn't tell anyone. The secret is safe, Damien, there's no need to be worried. But then again, there are so many reasons for me to be worried! Lionel's bride was coming to our house! It would have been easier to forget all this if only I hadn't been living here. How on Earth am I supposed to forget this if she's going to live in the same building as I was?? Granted, it's a large building and Lionel's wing of the duplex was on the other side of mine, but why about breakfast?? If I keep avoiding her every day, mom and dad, or even Lionel, are definitely going to suspect something. How do I stare at her knowing that I've seen her body, the part of her that not even Lionel has been able to see yet. How do I forget the soft.......??? "Shut it!!!" I said in a low tone to myself, trying to stop the thoughts ,the images from getting into my head. I dislike Lionel, disliked the fact that he was looked on as the perfect son while I was the black sheep, but I still have my dignity. I would never, ever , have anything else to do with his wife, no matter the situation. No matter how many times I see her beautiful face. I opened my eyes and stared straight at the pathway leading to our building. A car was approaching. She's here, finally. I watched, perfectly concealed by the shadows of the large trees in front of my room, as she walked down from the car and looked around the building with a smile on her face. I didn't get a chance to look at her pretty well last night because I was drunk, but now I could see why Lionel wasn't complaining about his marriage to her. She was gorgeous, not in a drop-dead gorgeous kind of way, but in a way that you'll feel a tug in your heart as you stare at her and Lord! Her smile…. No! Don't even think about her!! I was about to wrench my face away from staring at her when I noticed the smile on her face dropped as she stared at something so intently. Following her gaze, I realized what she was staring at…. Oh no! Lionel didn't just do that! I felt the anger boiling down my skin as Lionel pulled his lover closer and kissed her. Doesn't he have any sense of control at all??? He literally just got married! How could he? I turned to look at the poor girl as she stared at them in awkward anger. Poor girl, she had no idea what she was entering. This business marriage has got to be the worst thing that'll happen in her life. I swallowed a lump in my throat, and you're myself away from the balcony, closing it tightly before I'm forced to make a bad decision. It's not my business, I wouldn't get involved. She should have known that signing a marriage contract with Lionel was going to be only purely business, nothing more. I sank on my bed and tried to get the image of her away from my head, but it was hard. Why was I thinking about her? I wasn't the type to get worried about girls like her. He! I hated innocent looking girls. Except I know for a fact that she isn't innocent. What sort of innocent girl will have s*x with a stranger the night before her wedding? I stood up from the bed again, this time, pacing around the room. Her eyes were haunting me, the look in her face as she stared at Lionel and his lover. Darn it! I groaned and walked outside my room, taking huge steps down the stairs as I rushed outside to the garden. It was better than being in my room, tortured with the large brown eyes downstairs. Or so I thought. I stopped suddenly as I noticed someone curled on my favorite seat for reading. I could recognize the silky hair that shone under the moonlight. Lionel's bride, Oh no! I was just about to turn, trying to prevent her from seeing me when she turned her head swiftly towards me and stared at me for sometime before smiling at me. I spoke too soon about not getting involved with her again. I should have known that fate was always there to mock me. She stared at me for a while before quickly turning her face away, but not before I saw her face pale in embarrassment. Was she?? No way, was she crying? There was no way she was that naive. Why would she cry? She should have known that it was never meant to be an actual marriage, just a business marriage. Sure, Lionel wasn't being nice by sleeping with his lover the night of his wedding, but she should have known. "Hmmm.." I cleared my throat loudly, trying to get her attention. She raised her head but still didn't turn to face me. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to run into you. It's just that…" "Why didn't you tell me?" She asked in a throaty voice. "Tell you what?" I asked, confused. "That we were going to end up living in the same house!" She said and turned to face me. I knew it then, the next few years written in the contract were going to be tough for both of us.
