Chapter 7 Karin I take my sister to the airport and drive back to town after our lunch, the crazy traffic hardly bothering me. My head is full of last night and New Orleans and James. I go back to my apartment to get some fresh clothes before going to the hotel. My place looks tinier now, and though the inside is still a charming little haven, I shudder when I cross the doorstep. The room is still haunted by Terry. I briefly go around throwing everything of his in the trash: mostly cheap beer, empties, and printouts of his favorite fad images. I never let him leave much stuff and now I’m extra thankful for it. Once that is over, I grab a few outfits and toiletries and put them into my smallest suitcase.
