Chapter 12 Karin James is tense about something the moment he walks in the door. I get up from the couch to help him out of his jacket, ignoring my uncomfortable stomach. “Hey, your hair’s all wet. Didn’t you have an umbrella?” He kisses me gently but distractedly. “I wanted to feel the rain.” “That means you’re down about something.” I pat my hands up and down his damp shirt and look at him worriedly. “What’s going on?” He smiles thinly and hugs me, kissing the top of my head.
