CHAPTER FIFTY-ONE The army split into four sections and marched toward their respective destinations. After two days they circled around to regroup. Hidden behind an extension of the Shadow’s Fork Mountains, they rendezvoused with the scouts they had left behind. The three prisoners had reached the fort in the pass less than twelve hours after their escape, but so far there had been no activity from the fort. They made a dry camp with no fires.
