CHAPTER SIXTEEN
The week passed quickly. The daily lessons with Brian drew much attention and Riley and Toshin kept very busy giving instruction in arms to many young and enthusiastic Sélantu warriors.
Toshin and Neesha drew closer. Scarcely a moment passed that they could not be found together. Neesha even attended his martial arts instruction with the warriors. Kal-An himself was not oblivious to their affinity for one another.
Kris mentioned it to Brian one day as they walked alone.
“Yeah, I’ve noticed.” He smiled. “She is very attractive if you don’t mind the fur.”
“Brian!” she teased. “You aren’t thinking of leaving me for one of these young Sélantu maidens, are you?”
“Hmmm,” he mused, playing along. “Maybe I would like one of these fiery cat-wenches.”
