CHAPTER TWENTY
The sun had just begun to set as they stepped out of the jungle. Toshin led them down the only street of the town. An assortment of simple buildings lined both sides of the street, most of them residential. Across from what was obviously the town smithy stood a sprawling two-story building with a wide porch. The building was divided into a trading post and a tavern.
The company entered the tavern side of the building and settled around two tables in one of the corners of the large room. Curious looks and speculative whispers had welcomed their entrance.
“So,” Brian asked Toshin, “how long do you think it will be before we get some more information about what we're supposed to be doing?”
