Once the vessel was underway and the crew began ignoring their passengers, Brian questioned the strange little man.
“Why were those people so upset about you using magic? I thought it was pretty common on this world.”
“Common enough,” he answered, “but it takes time to learn to use it, to control it. Most folks don't have the time. So, every now and again some fellow accidentally outs with something in a fight or a tense moment. Can cause a lot of damage. An' remember, bad folks, as well as good folks, can learn.
