Desmond had to leave me in the cafeteria after our conversation because he was called for emergency surgery. As soon as the words spilled out of my mouth, I felt no immediate regret, almost like word vomit.
Desmond was so supportive and kind. He even held my hand when he saw tears streaming down my face. In that moment, I let go of everything I had been holding onto so tightly, and felt a sense of release and lightness.
