I watched from my mother's bed as she sat at her white rustic vanity, studiously applying her lipstick like usual. As I peered at her figure and her pale white hands picked up a tissue to blot the red tint with, the thought I'd be so consumed with searching for, fulfilled me. The person who killed Chloe was her. This evil putrid woman in front of me. In my eyes, that red lipstick isn't lipstick it's like a solid mould of Chloe's blood, her secrets, and betrayal in a little bottle. "Why did you do it?" The words slip from my lips before I can process the thought in itself. "Oh dear, that's too much for you to know." Her piercing green eyes peer at me through the vanity mirror, as if searching my soul.
