The first cut was shallow, a thin line across his cheek. He yelped, the smell of fear thickening the air. "I'll tell you," he begged, his voice high and desperate. "I swear." But it was too late for that. The darkness inside me had taken over, and I reveled in it. With each drop of his blood, I felt more alive. The thunder of the gang war was nothing compared to the storm in my heart. As he spilled his secrets, I listened, my thoughts turning as cold as the rain that soaked us both. The Serpents had played him, used him like a dirty rag, and now it was my turn to show him what real power felt like. I knew what I had to do. The law wouldn't touch him, not with the dirt he had on them. So, I'd have to take matters into my own hands. Make him pay in a way that would echo through the street
