The sound of the motorcycle grew closer, the vibrations of the engine thrumming through the air as I looked up from Leo's curious gaze as the rider came into view.
"Hawk," I murmured, the name a prayer and a curse on my lips as I recognized my brother pulling up beside us. A ghost from the past, now a very real and very dangerous presence in our lives.
"Oceano, take the kids and go in the house," I ordered.
After making sure they were safely inside, I turned back to face Hawk. "What the f**k are you doing here?" I snarled, the love I had just confessed to Oceano forgotten in the face of the person that stood before me.
