“You need to stop seeing Chase Lawton!” Crow roared.
Staring at him, open-mouthed and amazed, I hissed, “What did you say?”
“I said...you need to stop seeing Chase Lawton!” Crow snapped.
The tentative truce between Crow and me had made it a week and now everything was going to s**t once again. In what seemed to be becoming the theme of our relationship, Crow was the one throwing the stick in the spokes of the wheel that had been moving forward with such great expectation, and it now lay broken between us, quite possibly irreparable.
Placing my hand on my hip, I shook my head in total disbelief. I opened my mouth, then shut it, then opened it again, as I finally exclaimed, “Excuse me? Did I hear you right? Did you just say I needed to stop seeing Chase?”
