Chapterfive

“What did you just say?” Mia shrieks as Caroline tells her about her encounter at the office.

“Omg!!!!” she screams in curiosity.

“You both are so destined together for real,” she said, making a cute face towards Caroline.

“It's going to be like an office secret romance, with a lot of smooching and kissing at corners in his office soon,” she screams in excitement, enjoying the whole scenario Caroline had just told her.

Caroline just laughed throughout and couldn't stop laughing at Mia’s expression of what she had said.

“Miaa!” She said, laughing, trying to use her mouth to keep Mia from talking further, so she could stop laughing.

“Stop please, I might laugh my intestines out at this rate,” Caroline said as she used a handkerchief to rub away the tears that were coming out from her eyes because of how hard she had laughed.

“ There’s no romance anywhere, if anything at all, I would like to keep my feelings aside and just focus on my job, that's all.” She said and looked at Mia.

“Plus sure he can't like someone like me,” she continues.

“What do you mean he can't like you?” Mia asked.

“Young Lady, have you seen you?”

“You are beautiful Caroline, you have a banging body not to talk of your lips,” she replies, indicating to Caroline to check herself out in the mirror by the corner of her bedside.

“Look, babe, I'm sure he has fallen for you but doesn't even know how to tell you. I mean I would fall if I were him,” she adds.

“Let’s go shopping.” She says as she pulls me up to go get dressed. We got dressed and headed out.

Mia made me try out a lot of dresses that would reveal my curves and I even got lots of compliments from other ladies in the dressing room. Proving the points Mia had said earlier.

And each time I got complimented on a dress, she would make a hand gesture trying to indicate that she was right. She tries on some dresses too. Then we check out.

From there, we go to the cinema to watch movies. Funny how this was my first time at a cinema and I never got to go when I was in my small town. Thinking about my town made me remember my uncle. I should call him once I get back home.

We did other things. And Mia gave me a little tour around, so I would be familiar with places.

And it was cool since my boss had gone on a business trip and told me not to come to work that day.

Night came pretty fast, so we decided to hit the club. I was kind of hoping he would be there, but he wasn't. Mia starts to dance and pulls me in.

“Mia, I think I need a bit of air. I feel kind of choked, I'm going to head out for a bit,” I shouted over to her because of the loud music.

“Should I follow you out?” Mia shouted too, so I could hear.

“No, I'm fine boo, I will be back in a few minutes,” I respond.

She nods her head to indicate that she has heard me. Just as I got to the exit of the club, I saw a familiar figure standing in front of me. I looked up to see who it was, and it was my boss. Arthur was right in front of me, and before I could say anything, he held my hands to pull me out.

“I will drive you home, get in.” He said as he opened the door of the passenger seat of his car.

“ I came with my friend, let me just call her inside, so we can go together,” I replied. Just as I was about to turn, he pulled me back.

“You can text her that I came to pick you up. She can find her way back to her place alone.” He said as he made gestures for me to sit in the car. I quietly entered the car, kind of surprised and at the same time shy. So I texted Mia about what had happened, and she replied immediately that she had seen us outside together, so she knew and to have fun she put up a black emoji.

I chuckled softly at the message. Arthur had been driving me to my apartment already. There was total silence in the car.

“ When did you get back from your business trip?” I asked, trying to break the awkwardness.

“This night.” He replies sharply with no expression whatsoever.

I thought to myself, " I guess he does not want to talk.”

“ Um, okay,” I replied.

We soon reached my apartment and I proceeded to get out of the car. Everything was getting a bit too awkward at that moment.

“ Do you want to come in?” I asked him not to seem rude and just go inside after he dropped me off.

“Yes, thank you,” he replied.

We quietly walked inside. I opened my door, and we entered, so I quickly went to put on the light.

When I turned back, he was behind me looking at me, then back at my lips. Before I could say anything, I felt his soft lips on mine. I knew things would get awkward, but I didn't want to stop it, I wanted him at that moment.

He kissed me gently with his hands caressing my body, not rushing. He touches my hips and then slowly comes up to my breast, gently smooching it. I let out a slight moan. He looks at me and then softly tells me to pull up my top. I pulled it up without thinking twice, and he unbuttoned my bra, revealing my breasts to him. My n*****s were already pointed. “I should go,” he said, breaking the silence.

This will be a night for me to remember.

“But does he even like me?” I thought to myself.

Does this mean Caroline and Arthur would confess their feelings to each other or would they still hide it ?
