Theresa held my hands while my body trembled. My grandfather wanted me to marry Brandon yet I could feel it. He didn't like me at all even if his mouth says sweet things. My gut fluttered. Sighing sitting at the island together. This wedding was supposed to be the girl's best day something she would always remember. She rubbed my arm again.
" Can't you talk to your grandpa to not allow the wedding?" She asked.
Shaking my head no. My grandpa's word was law all of my family members find out the hard way. I remember when he lined us all up shoulder to shoulder because Helena got caught stealing from his box of chocolate for us. Grandpa had this lovely large wooden carved box filled with mouth-watering milk chocolate candies. If you got one he was indeed proud of you the best part was within the lucky ones were small slips of paper of prizes. I've won one yet he hadn't told me what it was he told me when the time was right he would give it to me once I was older. Sighing feeling defeated. Brandon indeed was hot. Glancing at my cousin's bestie we both were at the new Paula restaurant. Paula knew how to make some damn food. My mango Henny was dressed in a nice glass with large mango slices in the cup. This little glass would f**k you up if you not careful.
" You know they gonna be plotting against me Tee like I didn't do anything to them, power-tripping having asses." I cursed.
She chuckled digging into her lobster. She ordered lobster tails, buttered corn on the cob a tossed salad, and cornbread too. I on the other hand had crab cakes, wild rice with gravy, garlic, and herb string beans. This old woman three down in the kitchen.
" So what are you going to do for the business?" She asked.
" I was thinking about seeing what is going on there now have a meeting with everyone, see what their ideas are, and move forward..." I answered.
' sounds good and maybe we could figure out the whole bad luck thing." She added.
We chuckled together enjoying our routine lunch. My body tensed feeling as if somebody was staring at me while our server came to collect our dishes. I've always left a nice too for them standing up turning around my eyes landed on Brandon with Justina. This was my favorite restaurant. She hung onto his arm laughing with him waiting for a table. Our eyes locked together I rolled my eyes at him heading out.
" This b***h just don't get it" Theresa cursed obviously seeing what I am.
They looked cute together as the perfect match. Holding my head high walking towards them his eyes never left my own. Justina glaring at me. The closer I got anterior I became. Her fans were trying to get her attention. He lied to me and had some nerve to be standing here with the woman he claimed to not be his type.
" Cousins!" Justina squealed.
" w***e!" I squealed back with a smile.
Gasps rang around the restaurant. Her face turned red while Brandon glared at me I rolled my eyes pushing past them ensuring she fell as well.
" Ouch," she cried.
" How rude can she be with her fatass..such jealousy" a woman hisses.
I glanced in her direction still going out the door. My elbow was grabbed tightly I turned glaring into Brandon's eyes without a second thought I slapped him hard. His head turned he looked at me with his lip busted. He wiped his mouth yanking me away from Theresa.
" Don't cause a scene" he warned.
" Eat s**t!" I hissed staring him in the eyes.
" Hurt my cousin and I'll hurt you" Theresa warned him.
Theresa on the other hand of the family trained all her life in mixed martial arts. So I knew for a fact she would hurt Brandon. His beautiful face would be on all the news reports how he got beat up by a chick who was only 4'11. Pulling away from I pointed at him.
" I don't want to marry you and at the same time unlike. I don't want to let my grandpa down....so act accordingly." I warned him.
" I know you're not lecturing me," he says an amused look twinkled in his eyes.
" Brandon, are you coming?" Justina says.
" Nah, my fiancee needs attention apparently," he says.
" Nah entertain your w***e we free for now maybe I should visit an ex while your swing your fling" I snorted mockingly.
Freeing myself Theresa and I walked away our heels clicking. Chuckling hooking arms with Theresa we started skipping as if we were on the Oz. Giggling like little girls we entered another store shopping away. By the end of our date, I went to Hendricks corp. The glass building stood in the middle of Quinton. A slim woman stood at the reception desk humming she glanced at me and her face paled.
"Ms.president what a surprise. Can I get you anything?" She asked.
" No, I need all the messages you have for me," I answered.
She nodded quickly fuming with a folder she handed it to me nodding walking away towards the elevator. Giggling made me roll my eyes. Sheldon and his girlfriend must be behind me.
" Looks who came to work the fatass herself" he mocked.
Sighing and exhaling I turned towards him.
" Mr.Hendricks I need all the notes you have on our departments on my computer by the end of today if you fail I will personally write you up...and as for your girlfriend..she is not welcomed in this building unless it is for business," I say calmly.
They gawked at me.
" How dare you boss me-"
" Or do you rather I fire you now and cut your shares off and kick you out the family for embarrassment?" I interior him.
" Today is my birthday Bryce how could you be so mean!?" He hollered.
The bell on the elevator binged I walked on with them behind me.
" Leave the build ms. Davis" I told her.
Rachel bit her bottom lip.
" Your not even the president yet that job is still in the air until you marry Brandon which I doubt will happen." Sheldon snickered.
" Your fired and no longer welcomed in this family," I said flatly to Sheldon.
They both gawked at me as the glass doors closed. I watched security escort a raging Sheldon and Rachel out of the building my body trembled from the anger I should have slapped him. On the top floor I headed to my office I didn't even have a personal assistant yet. One hasn't been assigned to me yet either by my grandpa. Grandpa gave me the corner office. The whole wall, window, large mahogany desk, three computers, black file cabinets. An anointed bedroom like mines in the villa. Black carpet four 84 inch televisions mounted on the wall, a round table off to the side with four chairs around it. Firing Sheldon felt good. I refused to step on. Placing my shopping bags to the side I have begun working. I had so much to catch up on.
