CHAPTER 4: Her Companion
They let themselves in and settled on the vintage settee. The woman offered them rooibos tea and following her was a young boy carrying the tea pot. The home was eerie. The quietness overwhelmed the coffin's presence.
Seems like only the two of them are the only ones home. Both men are anxious where to start a discussion.
The boy feels their apprehensive behavior so he begins "She is your rationale for showing up at this time----my companion".
Sir William interrogated that they wanted a story about her and that it's okay for them. The boy then concurred. "Only if my tale doesn't get interrupted", the boy's inhospitable reply. Both men just nodded afraid to let out a single word. The woman settles herself beside the boy before he embarks on.
"After a phenomenon, she was brought to our place as she is an orphan. She never stops helping chores inside and outside our home. She was afraid we would leave her and give her to another household. I was 7 at that time. She made breakfasts and helped me with school tasks. She had different kinds of aptitude in life like arts and dancing. Her goal though is to be one of the famous writers. She writes and writes unsuccessfully. Her work didn't get noticed or terminated because she only knew a limited turn of phrase to put in her creations. She runs back and forth educating herself in her school's library. No matter what hard work she makes, her impaired memory stresses her whenever she tries to publish something. Every publishing day, lining up is only a conquering option for her. She can't proceed to another goal because of thinking her stories are not a match to everyone's creativity. Which...(*teary).. it always ends in failing. Not long after a failure day for her she then goes back to her ideal place; the library, where she let herself fall down in the 156 stairs from the 4th floor. In her coat, her first ever story comes with an ending".
The boy along with the woman is now trembling because of sobbing.
The two couldn't help but silently weep. Both of them are described as black Crows shedding its darkness in this moment. After they expressed their condolences they headed back to the premises not forgetting about the pages they had carried.
Upon arriving, they planned to arrange the papers but sadly chapter 5 was missing.
The professor went to look in his suit but the room is a little dim. He then goes to the back and switches on all the library lights. His face was brought to a dissatisfied look as there were no papers left inside his suitcase. He proceeds to where William was and then was stopped by William's expression. William then looked at him and pointed to the left side table beside the history corridor.
"What is it?".
