Gabriella will be giving Lary the tour of the Garcia family tile factory. Manuel, as it turns out, has to meet with a buyer who has just arrived unexpectedly from California. He will catch up with them for lunch in their favorite outdoor restaurant, Pescados y Flores, or in English, Fish and Flowers.
The factory itself is not attached to the showroom as Lary has assumed, but rather it is a good hour away up a dusty dirt road in the hills above the Guadalajara-Chapala carretera.
“That mean highway,” Maria Rosa explains as she noisily stuffs Lary’s suitcase in the back of a red BMW. Manuel and his sister confer in excited gestures and exclamation marks a distance from the car.
