Chapter Twenty Two

With all the unanswered questions the boys went to search the house to see if they could find anyone hiding. Katy and Emily waited for them to return. Katy was still crying.Emily went over to her and sat down on the ground with her. "Katy look at me." Emily said "You need to pull yourself together I know your scared , I am too but if we're going to survive whatever's going on we need to stay calm do you hear me." Katy sobbed one more time , took a deep breath in and wiped her tears of. Emily was shocked that her speech worked. When the boys returned when they saw the house was clear they started barecating the doors. Emily has never seen her parents house in such a mess. Everything always had a place but no just like her world everything was turned upside down.

She and Katy was pushing a table infront of the backdoor and just as Emily was about to close the door she saw it. She saw the same scarecrow the night her brother died standing in the cornfield ,but it looked different from the one on the pole . It wasn't on a pole so how could it stand. Everything started to make sence. The night her brother died the scarecrow was there. Melissa is dead and it couldn't have possibly be the crash against the tree that killed her so it had to be something else. Drake's missing but Emily knew Drake loved Melissa despite them argueing all the time , she didn't think he was capuble of something so evil. She looked up at the field and the scarecrow was gone. Suddenly all her unanswered questions became answered. It had to be the scarecrow.
