The revenge of the scarecrow.

Chapter seven

" All packed and ready to go " Katy said while closing her bag , it amazed Emily on how excited she looked  about the weekend . " I've never been to a farm before , and this is the first time in all these years that I'll see your childhood home " Katy continued she went over to Emily and gave her a tight hug.  Emily knew this meant so much to Katy and she wanted to give her one last good weekend before she broke the news to her about her and Jason's plans to move. She knew it would break Katy , but she had to do what was best for herself and for once in her life put herself first. Emily walked over to the closet and sat down to the chair next to it to put her mint green converse on . " Okay , I'm officially done packing " Emily said while standing up . " I wanted to ask you how was your night with Brandon ?" Emily continued asking , even though she really didn't like Brandon  , it seemed as if he made her happy , and that made Emily happy. Katy stopped for a moment to think " I've told you many times we're just friend ." She said. Emily gave her the look " Well friends don't look at friend that way."  Katy started to blush , she knew she could no longer suppress her feelings for Brandon , it started showing more and more and she had no way of controlling it . She ignored the comment and continued thinking about the fun weekend.

They got downstairs and everyone stood there with there bags laying on the ground waiting for them . " Sorry we're late , we couldn't fine everything , come on come on guys don't just stand there places to be . " Katy said  while pulling Emily by the hand and walking past everyone.  The boys packed all the bags in the trunk and they were of on the road. Jason was driving and Emily was sitting besides him in the passengers side holding his hand.  Katy looked at Emily and Jason holding hands , she turned around and looked at Brandon sitting next to her , he was looking out the window and staring out to the cars passing  by. She reached her hand out wanting to hold his hand but took her hand back and placed it on her lap . Brandon saw out the corner of his eyes she reached out to him but then pulled back . He wasn't sure if she was scared he would reject her or if she was ashamed of him , he knew everyone in the car knew what his 'occupation' was and he wasn't very proud of it but he when he started he rally needed the money and now he is in to deep. He looked at her , studying her , he reached over with his hand and placed it on top of her hand . She looked at him smiling and wrapped her fingers in between his , he rubbed her hand with his thumb . Katy moved closer to him and laid her head on his shoulder.

" Ugh when are we getting there ? I have to f*****g pee man . " Melissa said from way in the back. " There's a gas station in a few miles , I saw the last time we went down this road , I'll pull up when we get there. " Jason said . 

As soon as they got to the gas station Melissa was the first one out of the car running for the bathroom. Emily gave a slight laugh at Melissa's lack of bladder control. She continued studying the old rusty garage. She was kind of disgusted by the place , everything seemed so dirty. While Jason filled up the tank the rest of them went inside the shop . As they walked in the bell at the door rang .The store was dark but cleaner than outside. She walked passed the counter and the guy at the counter reminded her of how it looked outside. His close was dirty and his hair was clearly uncut , his beard had not been shaved in quite some time and it looked like he hasn't washed his teeth in forever. He looked at Emily as if he was taking all of her clothes of with his eyes. She felt very uncomfortable with him watching her every move. She gave the snacks she wanted to Katy and walked out of the store in a hurry. As she walked out Jason was standing against the car . She walked to him and stood close to him. He wrapped his arms around her body and hugged her tightly . He started playing with her long hair falling all over his hands as they stood up against the car holding each other.  

They didn't stand there long until the rest of the group came out of the store. As everyone got in the car Emily looked at the gas station again and got a strange feeling in her stomach . She got in the car with a huge feeling of relief not only because she was never going to see the man or gas station again but also that this was going to be her last time ever seeing the farm. As they drove the high hills they had passed before the gas station turned into cornfield. The fast passing cornfields reminded her of the night Johnny died. She looked at the old scare on her arm. It scared her going back. She remembered the leaves crunching underneath her feat , the moon light dancing on her body in between the high corn stalks . She closed her eyes while resting her head on the seat and all she could see is her brothers lifeless body just laying there. Then suddenly like a flash of lightning she remembered the scarecrow she always use to be so afraid of as a kid.

 She opened her eyes when she felt the car took a sharp left turn .  Her heart started to beat really fast when she saw where Jason was turning in . The farm. She hated it here. She looked around at the cornfield standing high on ether sides of the farm road leading up to the house. She could hear the excitement in everyone's voices so she decided just to suppress the overwhelming bad feeling she had about the weekend and convinced herself that it was just her inner child trauma she still had left inside of her and she was certainly not about to ruin the possible last weekend she had left with all her friends before she and Jason was going to break the news about their move to them. She looked behind her at everyone smiling and got infected by everyone's joy .
