We pulled up to Fire Pack High School. Xavier parked in front of the main door.
“I’ll be right back.”
I gave him a quizzical look, but didn’t receive a reply before he headed into the building
I turned to Zarik in the back seat and asked, “Do you know why we’re here?”
He gave me a sly grin. “Yes, and I’m not telling you.”
I groaned. “I thought we were friends!”
He chuckled. “Don’t worry. You’re not the only one who will be surprised.”
I heard books falling, followed by a gasp. I whipped around to see a starstruck teenager with fire engine red hair. Her eyes were the size of saucers and her mouth hung open in shock.
There was silence before Xavier spoke up. “Alpha, this is Penny’s older sister, Megan, and she’s your biggest fan.”
I stepped out of the SUV and gave her a wave
