Alpha:
“Why can’t I go? I want to dine with royalty too!” Tallia was throwing one of her usual temper tantrums. They often occurred when she didn’t get her way.
Tallia crossed her arms with a pout on her face. She was a brat, but she looked so cute, and I loved to spoil her. “Okay. You can go.” Tallia’s mood instantly lifted and the biggest smile was plastered on her face. “But you’ll have to pose as a maid. Only Alphas, Betas, Gammas, Lunas, and a small group of guards and servants are allowed to go.”
“Thank you so much!” She rushed to squeeze me into a hug. “I love you so much, Baby. I’ll pick out a short and slutty maid uniform,” she said with a devilish glint in her honey brown eyes.
She giggled when I let out a groan. I couldn’t help, but pull her in for a searing kiss, tangling my fingers in her long black hair.
Damn. Tallia’s lips were magical. I slowly slid my hands down her back to her full hips and round ass.
She pulled away and I let out a groan in displeasure, while my wolf growled at the lack of contact. “I have to go shopping before the stores close. Want to come watch me try on clothes?”
“I’d rather watch you take them off.”
She giggled again and shook her head. “Save that for our trip. I want to f*ck you in every room possible.”
She was such a tease and I can never resist her. “Get ready for the f*cking of a lifetime,” I said with a smirk. I handed her my visa, “Here’s my card. Buy whatever you want.”
“Thanks, Babe. Do you need anything for the trip?”
“No, Sweetie. I’m already packed, and I have some last minute Alpha business to attend to. Have fun.”I watched as she sauntered away before heading to my office.
Tallia is quite a woman, the embodiment of femininity and sexuality. I love her more than anything, but as an Alpha I can’t publicize our relationship. It’s expected of me to find my mate to stand by my side and support me in ruling my land.
I knew things would have to end eventually, so I spoiled her as much as I could. Tallia knew I had to put the pack before anything. She was never a fan of pack politics, but she understood my role as Alpha.
I didn’t like the idea of finding my mate. They would feel entitled to my status and rank, and try to control me. I don’t need a Luna when I have Tallia. But for the pack’s sake I would attempt to mate, unless I felt the need to reject them. Then I could spend my days with Tallia.
This trip was very important to me and the support from Tallia would help strengthen my resolve.
This would be my first time attending the Summit, meaning I would be sworn in officially as the Alpha of the White Sun Pack. I needed the other Alphas to see me as a strong leader, despite my age and the fact that I am a woman.
Yes, that’s correct. You probably assumed I was a man because of my role. Most people did. It’s rare for a woman to be an Alpha, but I was a single child. It was a miracle that I was born. My mother was supposedly barren, but the Moon Goddess blessed her with a daughter.
Rather then give the title to another bloodline my father refused and trained me to become Alpha the moment I could walk. It didn’t concern him that I was female. I carried his blood in my veins and that’s all that mattered.
Many had questioned his decision to raise me to take after him, but he never wavered. We trained day and night. The training and drills were extremely harsh. I was made fun of in school and had very few friends. So many doubted my abilities that I often questioned if I had what it took to become Alpha.
With my parent’s encouragement I grew stronger. They never doubted me. I still mourned my parent’s death to this day. To lose one was hard, but losing both left me alone with no family.
I didn’t understand the mate bond. Mates are considered one soul in two bodies. They can hear the others thoughts and feel their emotions, almost as if it was their own. Why would you want to tie your fate and soul to another like that, especially when you couldn’t choose who it was?
It was another reason I didn’t want a mate. I spent my entire life growing strong enough to lead and protect my pack that I couldn’t bare the thought of being linked to someone weaker than me. They would have to be just as strong as me, and the fact that I am an Alpha made it very unlikely.
“Are you almost ready for the briefing,” Saphir asked through the mind-link. “We are in your office.”
I opened the door to find Saphir and Mason sitting at the small table in the corner, where maps and documents laid. “I’m always ready to discuss business.”
Saphir laughed at my remark, making his inky black hair fall from behind his ears.
He knew more than anyone how serious I took being an Alpha. Saphir was several years older than me and had seen me grow from a stubborn, weak child to the fierce ruler I am today.
“You know she never sleeps, just works,” pointed out Mason, the Gamma of our pack.
“I have to make up for all the time you slack off,” I said, smirking at him, With his dazzling smile, blond hair, and baby blue eyes he was quite a ladies man, even when he was on the clock.
He held his hand to his muscled chest like I had stabbed him in the heart. “I slack off so you have the pleasure of a job well done. How could I take that from you?”’
I rolled my eyes. “Why don’t you just do your job before I replace you?”
“Don’t be so serious all the time,” Mason laughed, leaning back in his chair.
We are in charge of keeping an entire pack safe, there is no time to fool around when we have many wolves to take care of. “Business hours are for business. Clean up your act or I’ll find a new Gamma,” I gave him a stern look.
He could feel my aura spread and the smile dropped from his face as he straightened his posture. “Yes, Alpha.”
Saphir cleared his throat. “First order of business. I will have Stan tighten security while we are at the Summit. I’m still wary of attack, while we’re gone.”
“I agree. Our men are strong and we still rank high among all the packs, but that won’t stop rogues from attempting an attack. Even another pack may try to stage an up rise. They don’t realize how strong our female Alpha is, but we can use that to our advantage,” Mason pointed out.
That was a concern of mine. My men are strong and loyal, but it took awhile to gain their loyalty. There were several who opposed me and attempted mutiny. Unfortunately, they met a tragic end, but I wasn’t going to let traitors be a part of my pack.
“I want all forces on high alert. Double border security and have them make rounds in thirty minute intervals instead of every hour. This goes into effect the second we step out of the territory”
“Yes, Alpha. I will let Stan know. I have appointed three guards coming with us and the head maid from your estate,” Saphir stated.
“Tell Hannah she is not needed. I have already appointed one.” Saphir looked confused. “I have appointed Tallia as our handmaid for the journey.”
“Yes, Alpha.” He gave me a knowing grin, while Mason grimaced.
As a lesbian, Tallia was one of few women Mason’s charms didn’t work on, including myself. But that was due to my Alpha blood, rather than the fact that I was bisexual. Alpha, Beta, and Gamma blood never mixed. It would ruin the structure of our hierarchy.
Other than several of the staff of my estate, Saphir and Mason were the only ones that knew of my relationship with Tallia. They questioned me at the beginning, but as their Alpha I put an end to that quickly.
Saphir had met his mate soon after being appointed as my Beta. He understood love. She may not be my mate, but he understood how important she is to me.
“Is Leanne certain she can’t come?”
“She doesn’t want to put the baby at risk by traveling.” She was in her third trimester so she had to be extra careful.
“I understand. I appreciate you taking time from your mate and unborn child to come with us.”
“The pack comes first and she has her parents to watch over her.” I could see the way his face lit up whenever Leanne and the baby came up.
Was having a mate that amazing that just the thought of them would raise your whole being? Would it feel stronger than what I felt for Tallia? I can’t even comprehend the thought of such a strong bond. Looking at Saphir I could tell it was laced with magic from the Moon Goddess. I just hope when my mate is found that it actually felt like I found the other half of my soul.
Xavier:
We just arrived to The Alpha Summit and I was just putting the last of my clothes in the dresser when there was a knock on the door.
I couldn’t smell the scent of the knocker on the other side of the door, due to the wolf-proof rooms, designed for privacy.
They couldn’t be summoning us for the meeting yet. Our group was one of the first to arrive.
I opened the door to find my Beta on the other side. “Is something wrong? We just arrived.”
“I heard some interesting news,” Strauss chuckled, causing his dreads to bounce.
I had to hold back from rolling my eyes. He was always such a jokester, finding comedy in almost everything. “Is it that important? I have to prepare for the meeting.”
There was a glint in his brown eyes. “I just heard from the Beta of the Midnight Pack that the new Alpha that’s being sworn in is a woman.”
“...What?” I was caught off guard. I had never heard of a female Alpha. “That’s not possible. How could it be?”
Women were not fit to rule. They were weak and too blinded by emotions. They should be cooking and tending to pups, not worrying about tracking and war strategies.
There was a gleam of amusement in Strauss’ eyes, as he saw how befuddled I was at the information.
“He must be mistaken. There’s no way a woman could be an Alpha.” If she did exist he felt bad for the man destined to be her mate. Just the idea was laughable. A female Alpha was impossible.

Awhile later one of King Edward's servants walked me to the meeting room. I have been to his castle before, but the architecture was still astounding. Every territory had a castle, but this was the original one that King Marcus ruled in.
There were archways every twenty feet where large chandeliers hung. Candelabras were mounted on the walls in between paintings of past kings.
We arrived to the room. It was modernized with hardwood floors. To the left was a large, circular marble table with seven leather chairs surrounding it for business discussions.
On the right side of the room a table was set up with food and refreshments. A maid stood behind the bar ready to assist the attendance. There was also a lounge area with tables and wingback chairs set up. A coffee table stood with a sofa on either side.
I saw Daniel and Tobias talking in the corner. I avoided them and headed to the couches where Sterling and Derick sat.
“Did you hear about the Alpha of The Sun Pack,” Derrick asked as I settled on the couch across from them.
“He’ll be sworn in today, but that’s all I know about him.” I received a laugh from Derick and Sterling.
“You didn’t hear, Pup,” Daniel asked from across the room.
My wolf growled at his intrusion.
Daniel insisted on reminding my that he was many years my senior. He never seemed to get over the fact that I challenged him at the ranking and won. I never understood why he didn’t let his son run the pack, especially when a newly appointed Alpha could out rank him. It wasn’t my fault the old wolf couldn’t keep up.
I turned towards his direction.
“The new Alpha is female.”
I rolled my eyes. This old bastard was spreading rumors like it was high school. “There’s no way that’s true. How can a woman be Alpha? It’s a man’s job.”
“I smelled her scent in the halls. No way a male Alpha would smell that sweet.”
Alphas gave off a unique scent. It was a way for wolves and rogues alike to know they were coming. Only a foolish rogue would attempt an attack.
“You must have smelled a Luna.”
Lunas gave off a similar scent, due to the mate bond.
Daniel pointed to his nose. “I may be old, but this nose never lies.”
“You’re right. You are old. Time to retire.”
“That’s what’s wrong with these Young Alphas. No respect,” Daniel said to Tobias who nodded.
“I only give respect where respect is due.”
Daniel’s face twisted into an annoyed expression. “You’re a pain in the ass, just like your old man.”
“My Father-.” My words were cut off when Alpha Edwards entrance music began to play.
I gave Daniel a dirty look, before we took our places, standing behind our chairs.
The double doors opened and Alpha Edward walked into the room. “Hello, Alphas. Thank you for coming. I know it’s a long journey. To show my gratitude I’d like to invite everyone to dinner tomorrow night. Bring you Lunas, if you have them, your Betas and Gammas, as well as any others you have brought with you. Let’s make it a grand occasion, shall we?”
He was always humble and kind. Decades as King and Alpha Edward still spoke to us like a friend.
“I am pleased to introduce you to the new Alpha of The Sun Pack.” He gestured towards the doors and they opened, revealing the most beautiful she-wolf I’d ever seen.
Her long red hair was twisted into a formal fashion, contrasting with her jade green eyes. Her blue cocktail dress hugged her curvy figure.
Then her scent hit me. I had to brace myself, by grabbing the chair in front of me. I felt like I was intoxicated, but I couldn’t seem to stop inhaling the sweet smell.
“Xavier are you okay? You look troubled,” Alphas Edward asked, concerned.
I hadn’t realized I was grabbing the chair so tightly my knuckles turned white. I cleared my throat and straightened my posture.
I was about to open my mouth with an excuse when Daniel cut in. “He’s just shocked that the new Alpha is a woman.” He gave me a sly smile. “I told you, Pup. This nose never lies.”
This cocky bastard! My wolf wanted release, so he could bite Daniel’s head off.
“You didn’t think a woman could be Alpha,” she asked.
“I didn’t think a woman was capable of the job,” I said bluntly.
I could see anger enter her eyes as she grit her teeth. “I’ve been ruling The Sun Pack for the last three years with no help from anyone. A woman isn’t capable of the job? What makes you so competent?”
“My, my. It’s a little heated in here. Why don’t we cool down with some chilled wine?” Servants placed glasses in front of us and filled them.
“Let’s start the introductions. Why don’t you go first,” King Edward gestured towards her.
“I apologize for my behavior. I hope we can all get along and become allies. I am Alpha of The Sun Pack.”
“I am Xavier of the Golden Fire Pack.”
Alpha:
Xavier? My Father had mentioned him after the last Summit. He had challenged another Alpha to gain rank for his pack. It was rare for an Alpha to challenge another, especially a newly appointed one.
As a teenager I found it to be daring. It was the kind of thing only someone that knew what they wanted would do.
As an Alpha I saw it as rude and disrespectful. After meeting the infamous Xavier I wasn’t surprised by his actions and rigid views. He thought a woman couldn’t be Alpha. I will have to prove him wrong. Wait till he sees me at the ranking. He won’t know what his hit him.
