A sudden hush fell over the bar room and all eyes focused on a big screen television affixed to the wall just above the liquor shelf. A CNN reporter had taken her place before a grand piano in an otherwise vacant and sterile-appearing chamber. Her words "one of the most astounding scientific breakthroughs of our time" seized the attention of every patron as it had been planned for over a week. "At six p.m. next Tuesday developers of the Omniscience Project will reveal to the public for the first time startling evidence of their progress in a highly controversial field of study."
The six o'clock hour on Tuesday had arrived.
