Desperate Measures
(a short story sequel to the short story Incubator)
The moment he saw the photograph he knew they would have to make another trek into one of the remotest regions of planet Earth. This time, however, they could not go it alone. Advancing age had taken its toll on his fifty-five year old body, that and thousands of miles stumbling over treacherous terrain, scaling jagged boulders and dressing stings and bites from countless ravenous fauna.
On seeing the same picture she moaned because the identical conclusion came to her right away. Their resolution to limit future forays into the wild would soon be dashed.
