Chapter 2 Scumbag

　　As soon as she saw Brenda, Lily, who was wearing a beautiful pink gown, earnestly greeted Brenda with a meek fawning as usual, “Brenda, why are you so late? I’ve been so worried about you! I’ve been calling you. Why didn’t you answer the phone?”

　　Brenda gave her a faintly cynical stare and smiled scornfully, "Were you really worried about me?"

　　Had she not witnessed it personally, she would never have conceived that this gentle and lovable little girl could so treacherously stab her in her back. Brenda felt a chill run down her spine.

　　Lily noticed Brenda's sudden cold attitude. She had a guilty conscience and she dared not go forward to take Brenda's arm. Embarrassed, she stepped aside.

　　"I'm relieved you're back now. Let's quickly get the wedding started then!"

　　Harvey straightened the hem of his stiff suit, holding a bunch of red roses in his hand, he walked up to Brenda with a smile on his face.

　　Pictures of the couple in their wedding attire started to scroll down a big screen on the stage...

　　To the sound of festive music he knelt down on one knee.

　　With the light shining on him, Harvey looked very handsome and gentle. He looked at her tenderly,

　　"Brenda, I will love you all my life. Will you marry me?"

　　Her lips curved up slightly and she sneered at him, "NO!"

　　All of a sudden, the atmosphere became somewhat awkward, and the music came to a halt.

　　Feeling the situation taking a wrong turn, Harvey stood up immediately.

　　"Brenda, what's wrong with you? Today is our big day. Don't make a scene,okay?"

　　His tone was as gentle and pampering as before. If she hadn't seen it with her own eyes, she would have never believed that he was such a scumbag.

　　"So I’m making a fuss, am I? Listen up, I won’t marry you, not now and absolutely not in the future! You have been cheating on me with my sister, you have been plotting together to steal my property, and you have set up a trap waiting for me to tumble in! I’d have to be blind to be willing to marry you!"

　　On hearing Brenda's words, the entire hall burst into an uproar with everyone talking at once.

　　Lily was even more unforgiving at hearing Brenda's words. Her face contorted, she chided "Brenda, how can you humiliate me like this? You obviously have a secret lover and you want to kick out my future brother-in-law. It's absurd, you're trying to make me your scapegoat, aren't you?"

　　Harvey's face was also taut with displeasure. "Brenda, we need to get the facts straight today. Okay, we don't have to get married, but you have no right to tarnish Lily's innocence. I've never met such a vicious shameless woman!"

　　Brenda pressed a button on her mobile phone. A few seconds later, on the big screen where wedding pictures were displayed a few moments ago, a video of two people passionately involved in intimate acts started playing.

　　The woman in the video voluptuously swaying her snow-white waist was murmuring excitedly,

　　"Harvey, oh Harvey, you're mine... That stupid Brenda will always be a stepping stone for us. Harvey, Harvey, quick, tell me you love me..."

　　The video stirred an instant uproar among the guests.

　　Lily's face turned crimson with shame. Seized with panic, she hastily covered her face and started crying, "Harvey, ...Harvey, stop this video quickly, cut it off now!"

　　Harvey picked up a chair on the spot and slammed it into the big LCD screen.

　　The screen burst into pieces with a loud bang and glass shards went flying all over the floor.

　　"Ladies and gentlemen, today's wedding is over. Brenda must have found someone to manipulate this video. Don't believe it, I will give you an explanation later when I have settled this issue."

　　Brenda's parents had both left this world, hence most of the guests present that day were relatives and friends of the Cookper family.

　　As soon as Harvey finished his sentence, all the guests knowingly left their tables. A continuous flow of guests streamed out and the hall emptied in no time at all.

　　Harvey virulently threw away the chair in his hand and came straight at her.
