Chapter 2: Alpha Tancred

579 Words
Alpha Tancred had an exhausting week. His rival pack have been playing hosts to former rogues trying to intimidate him. A rivalry that lasted five generations over disputed territory. The LittleCreek pack was once the largest. The former Alpha was ruthless. He mistreated his wife and often handed out severe punishments to pack members. He often took out his anger on his pregnant Luna, and one night he went too far, killing the mother and child. The Luna's faithful maids and Omegas decide to revolt, and a bloody m******e occurs. The Alpha's warriors were against the general population who loved their Luna. After three days of slaughter, a peace treaty was reached. The deceased Luna's descendants and loyal followers were to stay in LittleCreek, whereas the Alpha would move south. The two packs have a deep hatred for one another, lasting five generations. Alpha Tancred's POV My men are usually very sharp, but these past days have not been easy. There were a lot of rogue attacks on our Southern border. The farming community in that region suffered losses. Their livestock was killed, and the wheat fields were set on fire. The casualties kept rising, and we have been patrolling the border. Still, these rogues are well trained and organized, almost like warriors. I was half listening to the speech when someone brushed past me. When I turned around, he sprinted out of the hotel onto the streets. My men were onto him in a flash. I had to slow down because I smelt it. It was terrifying. I never thought that I had a mate. The smell of jasmine, or was it lilac? Mixed with freshly baked patisseries. I peeked around the corner, too anxious to see who my mate was. There she was, a green-eyed beauty with untamed auburn hair flowing down her shoulders, a perfect nose and those pastel pink lips. Tom was howling inside ' we found her! Isn't she perfect? I love her!' My wolf was already in love with this rare beauty. She was on her knees, scrambling to collect her books after an apparent collision. Suddenly, out of nowhere, Cameron flung her against the wall. I flew into a rage, and Tom started whimpering. Her beautiful eyes were wide with fear and disbelief, struggling to set herself free. My Beta, James, grabbed me as I lunged for Cameron. All I could hear was 'Thief!'. "you are a thief'...there was a cramp in my chest when I saw her in tears. Thief? What? It cannot be correct, but my men are never wrong, and I trust their judgement. She was still dangling from the wall, so I barked at Cameron to let her down. He carelessly dropped her into a pile. She was shaking, and I just wanted to kneel and take her into my arms. But I cannot let my men see me weak, especially with the current situation. She was involved in the pickpocketing of my wallet and phone. I ordered James to stay with her because he is the only man I trust with my mate. I regret not asking her name or taking her address. Why doesn't she feel the pull? Maybe she does not have a wolf. Perhaps she's human or a hybrid. Maybe I am wrong. No! There was something about her. She is my mate, and I will have her. I can feel Tom sulking at the back. My wolf and I are already in love.
