As the day went by, Meg couldn't shake off the feeling of lightness that had settled in her chest. Talking to Alex had been a weight off her shoulders, and she felt grateful for his understanding and support.
She spent the rest of the day lost in thought, replaying their conversation in her mind. She couldn't believe how easily she had opened up to him, sharing her struggles with depression and her fears about trusting people.
As the evening approached, she started expecting his calls. "How could this happen?" she thought. She was surprised at how she started depending on him slowly.
Checking the time, it was 8 at night, but she didn't see his call or his chat on f*******:. She felt very empty.
""How could I let him influence me this much?"" she murmured.
"HI"
""Hello"" she chatted him up on f*******: but had no replies, so she had to look for something to distract herself. She entered the light reader app and continued reading her novel"" Married to the Devils' son"".
As the night wore on, she felt more and more worried about Alex and then his message came in." Hello, pretty good evening, How are you doing today? Sorry I didn't call. "I was so busy helping my mom at her shop" he said, apologizing to Meg.
" It's fine"" she replied Feeling calm.
"Can I call"" he asked like a gentleman.
" Sure you can", Meg answered, looking forward to it.
Immediately a call came in, and it was Alex. She felt so relieved and surprised at how she was looking forward to his calls every day. "I can finally get to hear your voice", Alex said in a warm and smooth voice.
"Really" Meg replied with a smirk.
" Yeah, how was your day. "Did you miss me?" he said, asking a question which made her heart skip. “Of course, I missed him “she thought.
"No, why would I?" she said to him with laughter.
"Ouch that hurts," he said jokingly.
As the night drew to a close, Meg checked her phone, and it was already one am. She was surprised this was the first time she had made a call that long, so they literally talked through the night.
"Maybe we should end here for today. "It's already past your bedtime," Alex said to her.
I smiled, feeling a sense of disappointment.
"Okay, no problem," she said, my voice barely above a whisper.
" Good night and sweet dreams" he said in a sweet voice.
"Okay bye "Meg replied.
As the call ended, Meg felt she had found someone special. Someone who understood her, supported her and made her feel seen and heard. She began leaning towards him without her knowledge.
