Sixteen The day after Halloween was always very quiet. Humans suffered from their hard-earned hangovers and most demons were gone for the annual trip to Hell. While I understood why most people went, the tradition no longer appealed to me. While I could feel the influence of the time on my horns and tail, I wasn’t worried they might come bursting out. After five-hundred years, I had them under control. Instead, I enjoyed the peace and the calm that settled over the world with the demons and angels gone.
