After their shower, they dressed in the soft plush robes provided by the hotel. Sam ordered breakfast. When room service knocked on the door, Sam asked Ted to wait in the bedroom. “For appearances sake,” he added. Ted understood. The man needed to protect himself. When Sam called Ted out to the living room, Sam stood by the service table with a red rose in his hand. A vase of eleven more sat in the middle of the mountain of food Sam had ordered. “Sorry, but they couldn’t find a quartet this early in the morning.” Ted smiled, walked to Sam and hugged him. “Thank you,” he whispered.
