Chapter 16
For the next several weeks Ted was with Kenny as much as Ted’s schedule allowed. They spent time in the library studying. They grabbed a burger at the local hang out. The two had gone to a couple of movies together and attended a football game. But what Ted enjoyed most was when they went for quiet walks in the university’s arboretum. The sprawling area of trees and meadows with a river running through it in the middle of the college town was an oasis of calm and peace. Students strolled there singly or with friends, walked their dogs or played Frisbee on the spacious lawns. Ted brought Dixie occasionally and was pleased that Kenny took to the little fuzzball immediately. It was so different from Ted’s life at Morrison with its pseudo dates with strangers and the fake intimacy
