Ted was glad he’d confided in Chris about his reaction to Arnold. He’d been tempted to quit Morrison’s after the bizarre evening with the man. Chris’s assurance that not all his clients would be as peculiar as Baby Arnie had convinced Ted to give it some time. “Besides that,” Chris had reminded him. “you signed a contract.” He would meet his second client later that night. Ted came into the lobby of the fancy downtown hotel through the revolving door and shook the droplets of water from his head. It had been raining pretty steadily most of the day, had cleared, and then started again just as Ted got out of the cab that had brought him to his appointment.
