5. First Date

ONAI CITY

Star industries!

It was a dark cloudy afternoon in ONAI city.

The Star industry building stood tall! It was the tallest building located in the outskirts of the city near the Aspen forest.

The owner of the industry was an unknown mysterious person!

The people of the city had never seen him except a selected few. He was said to be the richest and most powerful man in the land.

Inside the building everyone was in a hurry today. The employees had heard news that an important meeting between the counsel members was going to take place and they were eagerly waiting to catch a glimpse of their chairperson.

Suddenly, a group of cars were seen heading towards the entrance. They came in unison and stopped in front of the building. The doors of the front four cars opened and out stepped four large looking men wearing perfectly tailored suits. They started to walk towards the building. As they walked towards the building they were surrounded by their bodyguards who were equally larged and were wearing perfect clothes. Each person was surrounded by five bodyguards and they headed to the conference hall not giving a second look at the employees.

Everything happened in such a manner that the employees in the building could only gawk at the group of people who had arrived.

The group reached the conference hall where the bodyguards who were following stopped and the four people in the front entered the hall.

The hall was empty except for the chairs which were five chairs arranged in a star shaped manner. Each sat in their allocated seat in silence waiting for their leader to emerge with one seat left empty.

Suddenly one of the walls opened like a door and they saw the Hakan walking inside the conference hall.

"Good afternoon Alphas. Thank you for attending this meeting at such short notice." Said Hakan looking at his gold Breguet watch.

All the alphas stood up as they saw the majestic 7 foot tall beefy person! His well combed hair silver hair was made into a ponytail and it reached till his shoulder. He had wrinkles on his forehead! His face had an unreadable expression.

In reality, no one dared to skip the meeting or disobey the command of the Hakan.

"What's the need to call this meeting in such a haste 'O Immortal one'. " Asked one of the alphas.

"I wanted to make an important business decision alpha Theoden and I thought it wise to discuss with you all before I make such a decision regarding Star industries."

"We know whatever you do is in the best interest for all of us, sire. We all will always approve of your decision."

"Still we must follow the rules alpha Martin. The rules remain the same even for me. " Said the Hakan as he walked to the centre of the star shaped arrangement of chairs.

"I think it's time that we expanded our empire outside of this city. Star Industries has received a business proposal to merge with the ASAHI company in Guapa city. We will be the majority shareholders having 70% and have full control over the administration. This is what I wanted to talk to you about. " Said the Hakan in his usual apathetic voice

"I think it's a good idea to expand the sire, but… . " Stopped alpha Geraldine in a shaky voice. He was terrified to oppose the Hakan but he had to, since he knew this was a bad deal.

"But what ? Alpha Geraldine. Do you think I have made a bad decision? " The Hakan asked smilingly but with a note of irritation in his voice.

"The Asahi company is well known to produce illegal drugs and supply it in Guapa city. The company is just a front for them to produce these drugs. Thousands of people have become addicted and have died because of them"

"I am well aware of that Alpha Geraldine but the drug business is of no concern to us, if anything it's going to be profitable and we can easily get more members of our pack in higher government positions, faster than what we have achieved in Onai city." Said The Hakan in a dismissive tone.

"The drugs have no effect on werewolves and I think we should have the interest of our own kind first before thinking about the humans."

There was a murmur of agreement in the room but Geraldine still looked troubled.

"Since one of the council members seems to disagree I think we should have a vote. " Said the Hakan who was clearly irritated now.

" There is no need for a vote sire. Forgive me for having a few doubts. I wholeheartedly support this decision. "

The Hakan smiled.

"Good then. I will do everything that is necessary. I look forward to meeting you Alphas and your families in the 'Pournami' ceremony at the star island a fortnight from now. I will take your leave now. "

With this he nodded to the alphas and left the hall in the same manner which he had come.

IRAH POV

“Good morning Irah!”

Tina woke me up.

I didn't know when her boyfriend left!

“Good morning Tina!”

As usual I was too lazy to get out of my bed. But my classes start at 8am. I saw that Tina had already taken a bath and dressed up.

“Tina, what body wash do you use??

It's really unique… I can't really guess what it is made up of” I asked her

“Ho it's just a homemade one!

My mom made it so I have no idea what she put in it!” she said.

After a quick shower I got ready for college.

“Irah! Do you eat in our college canteen?” she asked me…

“Yes Tina! What happened??”

“I'm also eating there! Let's go together” she smiled at me as she said!!

“Do they have any menu or meal schedule?” She asked me..

“I don't think so Tina!”

“Then how will we know whether we like the food or not?” She packed her bag worried..

I took a deep breath and concentrated on the smell coming from the canteen. Then I told her…

“It's noodles with vegetables and egg!”

She looked at me in confusion and it was obvious she didn't believe me. 

“Really?” She asked me

“How about a bet?…. 20 dollars??” I asked her with a confident wink!!

“Fine!!! 20 dollars deal…! Let's head to the canteen now!” She said holding my hands…

As we got down the stairs we saw the senior girls who had talked with me yesterday.

Left with no choice we greeted them,

“Good morning ma'am”

They didn't reply!

I can see them staring at me.

Suddenly the tall dark senior came near me!

“What are you doing with Ares??

Can't you keep all your stuff inside your bra and panty!

He is already taken!!

Put this in your f*****g brain!!

HE IS TAKEN ALREADY!!

He is already in a relationship with my baby girl Iris!!

So stay away…. Or else we will make you pay for your mistakes!!,” the senior threatened me.

Okay Irah! No use being a quiet, good, obedient junior and that charmer is already taken. So we have nothing to do with them I thought.

“Okay ma'am!! I thought he had better taste. I'll ask Ares about this! ” I said that looking at Iris.

“You will pay for this” she warned me and threw her book to the floor and went inside the hostel!

“OMG!! Where did you get that boldness in the very second of college Irah?” Tina asked me.

I gave her a fake smile and was thinking about Ares!

“Did he just use me to irritate his girlfriend or to show off that he has got something new!!! Whatever it is, he is not mine….! Let's just mind our business Irah!” I said to myself as we reached the canteen.

After we ate our breakfast Tina gave me 20 dollars!

“What's this Tina?”

“You won the bet Irah!” She said…

“s**t! I didn't even realize what I ate!!!”

I smiled at her and took the money

“So you are disturbed…” she asked me.

“What?? Is that so obvious in my face?” I asked her.

“I don't think they are telling the truth Irah. If you want I can ask my boyfriend to check if senior Ares is still single. ” she said, putting her hand around my shoulder.

“I think it's not worth the trouble. Let's go to the classroom!! I took her arm and pulled her towards the classroom.

And there he was!

My charming stranger. He was sitting on a ledge surrounded by his friends near the football ground. We had to cross them to reach our class and Tina made sure that we walked near them.

“Good morning sir! My name is Tina! Irah's best friend and roommate” She said to them.

“Why don't you ask your friend to look at me Tina?” Ares told Tina..

Tina pushed me near him and said “Irah wish him”…

“Good morning !” I said not wanting to look at him.

“So what do you like to do?” He stood up and came near me!

“Nothing !”

“You look and move like you are a dancer”

He asked me as he was standing behind me.I could feel his breath near my neck!

"No sir. "

"Alright then. I cannot let you girls go without making you do anything or else it won't be fair on the other freshers. Look around you, every fresher has to do something. This is just a fun interaction between the seniors and juniors which creates a bond and also a chance for you to show your talents. "

“It's getting late! I need to go” I said and started to walk away.

"Not so fast. Ok Tina since your friend is in a hurry why don't you do something for us. What are you good at? "

"Irah please don't leave me alone and go" Tina called out to me. I couldn't leave my friend alone and I had to come back.

"Good!! Both of us will watch" He said as he grabbed my hand and made me sit beside him.

His touch again sent shivers down my body but I didn't fully melt this time. I was still angry and sat quietly. Tina had said that she could sing and he had given her song to sing. I looked at him and found myself staring. I didn't know why but I was drawn to him. He was looking at Tina and smiling warmly clapping as she started singing.

He put his arm on my shoulder and turned towards me as I looked at the ground and pretended to look uninterested.

"Your friend really has a nice voice don't you think"

I started to listen and "yes, indeed" Tina was singing really well.

Ares gave me a nudge then and told "It's your turn next, you need to decide what you are gonna do".

" I really have to go to my class. I'm not feeling well" I said as I got up and stormed towards the class.

ARES POV

In this 4 years of college this is the first time I took so much time getting ready! I have changed almost 6 shirts and finally decided on the Black shirt and blue pants!

Ryan was driving the car!

As we reached the college we went to our usual place of hanging out near the football ground and I sat on a ledge waiting for her.

Ryan started to tease me…

“You look like the little pup who imprinted on Indu seventeen years back. Look at your face now... so much tension and excitement!! Relax Man!!”

As we were waiting for her… I smelled her already!! She was coming inside the college with a black shirt and blue jean! Looking at her I forgot to breathe!!

Thanks to Ryan for bringing me back to the world!

He screamed,

“COUPLE GOALS!!!

Look at you both wearing the same dress code”

I could sense that something was bothering her. I saw her friend pulling her towards our direction and as they came near, her friend wished me. But my eyes were fixed on my luna.

When Tina insisted on her , “Irah! Wish him”

“Irah! ….”

I realized she was calling Indu as Irah. She had changed her name. But why?

As I was wondering about this I saw the whole path filled with seniors and thought,

"surely someone is gonna mess with her. It should be only me who teases her. "

I asked her what she was good at but she didn't seem to be in a good mood and replied

“It's getting late! I need to go” and walked out!

I couldn't let her go so soon. I wanted to spend some more time with her and so I called out to Tina asking her what she was going to do. Sure enough, Indu came back to support her friend.

I grabbed her hand and made her sit beside me and put my arm on her shoulder. I felt such excitement feeling her so close to me and had difficulty hiding it.

I wanted to talk with her but didn't know how to start. I soon found her getting up and storming away from me and I knew she was upset about something.

"Was it because of me?? " I dreaded.

"Why is your friend upset Tina?? "

“She is upset because Senior Iris told her, you both are in a relationship! They also warned Irah that she should not talk with you anymore”

Hearing this I couldn't control my anger! How dare she disturb my Indu!

I ran behind her and saw her sitting inside the classroom.

As I entered the classroom everyone was standing except one person!

I Stood in the entrance and called aloud “Irah! Come here!”

I could see that she didn't want to listen to me. She was visibly angry, but still she walked towards me. She was looking at the ground as she came near and said

"What do you want?? ".

I took Irah's hand and walked towards the 3rd year classroom! Behind me Ryan and Tina followed.

We reached the third year classroom. A pediatric lecture was going on. The class was packed and contained almost a hundred students.

Almost all the students and professors in the college knew me as I was a topper and also excelled in sports.

I stormed into the classroom still holding Irah's hand leaving Tina and Ryan standing perplexed behind me.

The lecture stopped and everyone was shocked looking at me including the professor.

"From now on this girl is under my protection. Anyone having any issues or trouble with her has to go through me first" I bellowed. "Is that clear?? "

I could see the whole class nodding their head except Iris and her friends.

I looked at them coldly in anger

"Is that clear?? " I asked through gritted teeth fixing my eyes on them.

Then I saw them nodding their head in agreement.

“Sorry doc! For whatever happened here. Thanks for the time!” I said to the professor and came out of the class.

I realized that I was still holding Indu's hand and let it go as we came out of the class.

Without a second look I went to the edge of the verandah, took out a cigarette and started smoking. I was angry. "How could she have believed someone else and doubt me?? "

“Trust me Irah! You are the first girl he has ever laid his eye on!!” I could hear Ryan telling Indu.

I saw her taking out a note from her bag, scribbled something on it and tore the piece of paper. She came towards me and thrusted the piece of paper onto my hand, turned back and started walking

“Are you coming or not?” She asked Tina and both of them ran towards the classroom!

I took a puff from the cigarette and opened the crumbled piece of paper. She had given me her phone number.

I started smiling and turned to look at her. I could see her turn and look at me as she was about to enter her class and I swear there was a hint of smile on her face.

Irah POV

It was my first class of the semester but I couldn't concentrate. So much had happened today and I couldn't believe most of it. Everything had happened so fast.

I sat on the third row looking at the anatomy presentation that was going on but my mind was full of thoughts.

I was checking my phone every minute waiting for his call or text.

Then it happened. I saw my phone vibrate. I took it frantically and opened the message which I had received.

"Be ready by 7. I will take you for dinner tonight… "

I couldn't hide my excitement. With trembling hand's I managed to send a reply

"Ok"

I felt someone was looking at my phone and turned to see Tina grinning at me and giving me a thumbs up.

I was about to go on my very first date ever!!!
