Lunch with his Grandpa

"What?! Contract wife?" exclaimed Gwen in surprise. "Your contract wife?" "Yes, you might have heard rumors about me out there," Dominic continued. "But I haven't been able to find a woman to be my partner." "I'm sorry, sir, I can't. In my opinion, marriage is a sacred thing, not something to be taken lightly, especially for unclear reasons," Gwen refused. "I understand, but please understand my position right now. So, please think about it carefully again, I will give you many privileges," Dominic urged. Gwen shook her head and left the room without saying goodbye. She couldn't fathom how someone like Dominic could think about a contract marriage. "Typical rich people, they think everything can be obtained with money," she muttered as she sat down at her desk. The hazel-eyed woman was about to continue her work when Dominic appeared before her again. "Grandpa invited us to lunch, so we need to meet him," he said. Gwen sighed deeply as if she was reluctant to accept Dominic's invitation. "We have to continue the charade from earlier." "But sir..." "Let's meet him first, you can think about the contract marriage offer later," Dominic said, his tone softening. He turned around and headed towards the elevator at the end of the corridor. "I need to tidy up my desk first, sir. And get my bag," Gwen interrupted his steps. "Hurry up, I'll wait downstairs." Gwen stood frozen, trying to convince herself that she was now going alone with her boss for lunch with his family. "Is this a dream?" she muttered, patting her cheeks. "Don't get too excited yet, he doesn't like women. You're just an excuse," she continued as she quickly tidied up her desk. Gwen didn't forget to grab her phone. With hurried steps, she made her way to the elevator. Luckily, the elevator arrived quickly, she entered and pressed the button on the wall, her destination being the basement floor where the company executives parked their vehicles. In a few seconds, she arrived at the parking area. Gwen looked around, mesmerized by the row of expensive cars. "Which one is Dominic's car?" she thought to herself. "Why are you taking so long, we're running out of time." Suddenly, a hand pulled her from behind, it turned out to be Dominic. He was annoyed because Gwen hadn't come yet. He led the new employee to his car parked behind. Gwen widened her eyes when she saw Dominic's car, the luxury vehicle from a famous brand amazed her. She didn't expect to ride in such a nice and expensive car. Dominic's second reprimand made her realize, she quickly got into the car. "What's wrong?" Dom asked, noticing Gwen struggling with the seatbelt. "The belt is hard to pull, sir," she said. Dominic leaned forward to help Gwen fasten her seatbelt. "Is it comfortable now?" Dominic asked. Instead of answering, Gwen froze in place. Her face was very close to his, she thought Dominic looked beautiful and handsome at the same time. His long hair added to his sexy impression. "Gwen." "Uh - sorry, sir," she said, turning her face away. Dominic returned to the driver's seat, he stepped on the gas and the car started moving away from the office building towards the city center. The traffic jam made the journey longer. They should have arrived in 30 minutes, but now they were only halfway there. "Act like we're dating," Dominic said suddenly. "Let's make Grandpa happy first, then I'll find an excuse for us to break up. Understand?" "I understand, sir." "Don't call me sir later, just call me Dom or Dominic," he added. "Yes, sir." The room fell silent again, Gwen busied herself looking out the window while Dominic focused on driving. After passing through the long traffic jam, they finally arrived at a Japanese restaurant. "Are you going to freshen up?" Dominic asked, staring intensely at the woman next to him. Gwen hurriedly took out her phone and looked at her face. "I have this, use it." Once again, Gwen was surprised to see the box Dominic gave her, she didn't expect him to have beauty supplies. "Is this yours?" "No, it's my brother's, left in the car," Dominic explained. A smile suddenly spread across Gwen's face, she took the box and opened it. It contained makeup tools from a high-end brand. "Quickly use it, I'll wait outside." "Yes, boss," she whispered. Gwen used powder and lipstick to touch up her makeup. After that, she quickly got out of the car and walked alongside Dominic towards the entrance of the famous expensive restaurant. They went up to the second floor, more precisely towards the VIP room. The restaurant provided a VIP room so that guests could enjoy their meals in a closed room, giving a private impression. Apparently, Mr. Charles was already in the room, waiting for the arrival of the two people. "Sorry for being late, Grandpa, we were stuck in traffic," Dominic said, his tone changing in front of his grandfather. "Hi Gwen, what would you like to eat?" Grandpa asked, speaking to Gwen instead of his grandson. "To be honest, I've never been to a Japanese restaurant before," Gwen revealed, trying to be honest, although she received sharp glances from Dominic. She briefly read the menu options and didn't recognize any of the tastes. "Why is that?" "I don't like Japanese cuisine," she lied. Gwen wanted to continue to be honest, but she was disturbed by Dominic's attitude, so she had to change her sentence. "Could Grandpa recommend me something I could try?" "I really like honest girls like this," Grandpa said, apparently liking Gwen just the way she was. "Alright, since my grandson asked for it, I'll choose the food you should try." Mr. Charles mentioned some signature dishes from the restaurant while showing pictures and describing their taste. In another corner, Dominic wore a flat expression, feeling that Gwen was more suited to his grandfather than to himself. The waiter came into the room, Grandpa immediately informed what dishes they would order. Including Dominic's food, the elder man already knew his grandson's favorite menu. "Alright, we'll wait for the food." The room fell silent again, Gwen tried to find a conversation topic to make the atmosphere more relaxed. Their activities were interrupted because the waiter brought the food they ordered earlier. The three of them were busy eating, Gwen, who was trying Japanese cuisine for the first time, enjoyed the Grandpa Dominic's choice of menu. "Thank goodness you like that food," Grandpa said, seeing Gwen happily eating. Dominic also paid attention to Gwen, suddenly he fed some of his food to Gwen. "Try it, it's my favorite food." Gwen looked awkward but she remembered Dominic's command earlier that they had to look like a sweet couple. So she had to welcome the charade initiated by her boss. She tried to act like a sweet girlfriend to Dominic, and so did he. She felt relieved when she saw the happy face of the middle-aged man in front of her. Gwen understood Tuan Charles's sadness when he heard the gossip about his grandson. "Don't daydream," Dominic warned, nudging her elbow. "Uh - sorry," Gwen whispered. "Maybe Gwen is thinking about something,"
