The mysterious man then left them, leaving Gwen still puzzled by Dominic's words, she then asked a question. "What do you mean, Sir?" "It's nothing, let's hurry inside," he pointed to the open elevator door, once again leaving just the two of them. In a short time, they reached the basement floor, where if Dominic was looking for his car, it was different for Gwen, who headed to the public bus stop. As usual, she went home using public transport. After waiting for a while, the vehicle she was waiting for finally appeared. Her journey from the office to home was quicker than usual, with no significant traffic jams. Upon arriving home, Gwen immediately cleaned herself up, changed clothes, and rested. Her long day quickly came to an end and was replaced with a new one. It felt like Gwen had just fallen asleep for a moment, and now she had to wake up because her alarm had sounded. After stretching, she got out of bed and headed to the bathroom. It didn't take long for the tall woman to get ready for work, and after fixing her hair, Gwen was ready to head to the office. Taking the public bus, she headed to her workplace. The 30-minute journey had passed, and now she was queuing in front of the elevator. After waiting for a few moments, it was her turn to enter and ride up. "Gwen... trouble, have you heard the latest gossip?" Tsuri said in a panic, immediately approaching Gwen as she emerged from the elevator. "What gossip? I just arrived, don't know the latest gossip," she replied. "Earlier, I saw someone sticking your photo on the elevator door, everyone who was about to ride the elevator saw it. They then talked about you, gossiping about you." "What photo? Why is my photo there?" the woman asked, puzzled by Tsuri's explanation. "Your photo with Mr. Boss in the office lobby. You were talking, looking at each other," Tsuri added. Gwen recalled the incident yesterday afternoon when she was alone with Dominic. She didn't expect someone to take a photo of them and make it gossip material. "Is that photo real? How could this happen?" "Yesterday I was busy working until I lost track of time and when I—" "Come to my office now!" Dominic suddenly appeared. Gwen rolled her eyes, her boss suddenly showed up and ordered her to his office. Surely, he knew about the new gossip spreading quickly. "I'll go first," she said to Tsuri. She followed behind Dominic's imposing figure as they walked towards the company leader's room. Upon entering the room, Dominic immediately pulled out two white and pink objects. "Grandpa made two sample wedding invitations." "W-what?" she exclaimed. Gwen was surprised to hear that, she took the two objects and opened them. Her full name and her boss's name were written on them, even with a wedding date. "We're getting married on the 31st tomorrow? Isn't that a workday?" "It seems he just randomly put in a date or maybe he really wants the wedding on a workday," Dominic replied with a flat expression. "So, what now, Sir?" "Don't know, he told us to choose the color. But I don't want to choose," Dominic answered, looking indifferent. He moved towards his desk, turning on his laptop. "I won't choose either," said Gwen, placing the invitations on the table. As she was about to step towards the door. "There's new gossip about you and me, did you know?" he asked. "Yes, Sir, Tsuri told me earlier. Turns out someone took advantage of our moment yesterday. I'm sorry, Sir," Gwen said, feeling uneasy towards her boss. "I'm sorry too, hopefully, you won't be bullied by other employees," the long-haired man replied. "Let me know if they bother you." Gwen nodded and excused herself for the second time. But her steps stopped as Dominic spoke again. "So you don't want to choose the invitation card?" The woman looked confused, she didn't choose the color of the invitation card because it was unlikely for her to marry her boss. Dominic was the highest boss in the company, and she was just a lowly employee who accidentally entered the room when the two leaders were discussing the wedding. "Firstly, those two colors aren't my favorite, and secondly, I'm sure I won't marry—" The sound of the office door opening was heard, Mr. Charles came early in the morning. "Have you chosen the sample invitation card? The white color looks more elegant, doesn't it?" Gwen and Dominic exchanged glances, both sighed in unison. "Why are you in such a rush to make a sample wedding invitation?" "You have a fiancée but there's no invitation, so I made it for you," Mr. Charles replied. "I've also ordered a wedding dress for Gwen because I know she won't be able to afford it." Her eyes widened, her heart ached upon hearing that. Although it was true, the poor girl who moved to the city to seek a better life wouldn't be able to afford a nice and expensive wedding dress. "Grandpa!" "I'm being honest, I don't want to pretend in front of my future granddaughter-in-law, Dom. She will be part of our family, so she should know who I really am," Mr. Charles said at length. "Yes, but not like this," Dominic intervened. The middle-aged man then shifted his gaze to Gwen. "Since I knew you were Dominic's choice, I immediately looked into you. The lunch invitation was to reassure me that you are the right woman to enter our family." "Grandpa..." Dominic repeated, feeling sorry for Gwen. "You know why I deliberately chose a workday because Dominic is marrying you. I thought you just needed to get married without a big ceremony," he explained. The young woman was on the verge of tears hearing that. "We'll hold the wedding party on the weekend, Gwen. We'll get married as it should be, so others know the rumor isn't true," Dominic said, taking a stand to protect his employee's dignity. Gwen was already deeply involved, she shouldn't be treated like this. "You've been talking about a lot of things since earlier and ignoring my feelings," Gwen said, her voice trembling. "This isn't the time to think about your feelings, Gwen. I've been ignoring my feelings too," Mr. Charles replied. His voice sounded louder than before, causing Dominic to rise from his seat. Gwen now looked at Dominic, tears streaming down her face as if voicing her wounded heart. Dominic knew that sooner or later Gwen would reveal the truth, and if that happened he feared his grandfather's illness would flare up again, maybe this time he would lose his grandfather. He got up from his chair and walked towards Gwen, then knelt down while saying, "Miss Stewart, will you marry me?"
