I straightened my dress one last time before Adrian knocked on the door. I could feel Aurora's car speeding away, and a part of me felt like I had already won. Lab sisters? Please. Once I was Mr. Ethan's star student, Aurora would just be the girl who used to live in the Pack house.
The door opened, and Mr. Ethan stood. He looked like he was ready for a quiet night in. When he saw us, his smile for Aurora—which I had seen through the window—completely vanished.
"Alpha Adrian," he said, his voice polite but weirdly heavy. "I wasn't expecting you. Please come in."
"Mr. Ethan, sorry to drop in," Adrian said, stepping inside. I followed him, making sure my heels clicked loudly on the wood floor. "I'm here on a personal matter. Hope you don't mind."
